If you're still chasing Likes on X, you're missing the 2026 reality. Replies are now weighted at roughly 13x the value of a Like in the recommendation engine. I’ve had posts with 50 likes go nowhere, while a post with 10 heated replies hits 50k impressions.

Are you guys intentionally writing "low-IQ" takes just to bait corrections, or is there a cleaner way to force the reply ratio up?

Tôi cũng nghĩ vậy, vì tỷ lệ tài khoản bị khóa do bình luận spam cao hơn trước đây.

Hi! I have to translate your response into English so I can understand. That’s a great point! It feels like X is leaning way harder into "meaningful" engagement now, so if your comments even sniff like spam, the system just flags the whole account. It’s a good reality check. If a "Like" doesn't lead to a real conversation or a follow, it’s basically just noise that might actually be putting your account at risk. Appreciate the insight!

Kinda strange with my account. It's had a huge increase over the last 2-3 weeks in terms impressions - over 2 million some days.

A few weeks ago, it was around 500,000, if that.

The one thing I noticed? Verified Accounts seemingly auto-reply to my tweets - sometimes 2 different accounts reply with the exact same thing!

The result? It seems to be a catalyst to get my tweets shown to more followers, so the snowball effect is created.

As you say - the likes don't appear to matter as much. Retweets and Replies seem to matter the most.

The question is, will Twitter ban these verified accounts, or will Musk leave them as they are paying a monthly fee to him?

Sorry for the translation issue.
The problem I've noticed a change in the last week for a large number of my X accounts is the comments.
For weak X accounts, unintentional spam comments are making accounts more prone to suspension than before, even though it wasn't a problem previously. It seems X has changed its algorithm regarding the weight of comments and lightened the interaction value of Likes.

That 500k to 2M jump is insane! It’s wild to see the "snowball effect" in real-time. Those verified bot replies are such a double-edged sword. They're definitely gaming the system by tricking the algorithm into thinking there's a massive conversation happening, which just forces your tweet into more "For You" feeds.

As for Musk banning them... it’s the million-dollar question. Since they’re essentially paying customers and driving the "impressions" numbers up across the board, it’s hard to see him nuking them entirely anytime soon. It’s a "don't look a gift horse in the mouth" situation for now, but I'd definitely keep an eye on the actual quality of that reach.

Have you noticed any "shadow" effects from this? Like, your profile visits or link clicks staying flat despite the massive impression spike? Curious if the algorithm is rewarding the reach but secretly throttling the actual conversion.

No worries at all, your point comes through perfectly. That is a really interesting observation about the weak accounts. It makes sense that if an account doesn't have much authority, X is going to be way more aggressive with the spam filters.

It definitely feels like they've flipped a switch. Before, you could get away with a lot more, but now that they've lowered the weight of Likes, those low-quality comments stick out like a sore thumb to the automated moderation. It's almost like if you aren't adding actual value to the conversation, the algorithm views the interaction as a risk rather than a plus now. Definitely a warning to keep things looking human and organic!

Are you finding that even basic "thank you" or emoji comments are getting flagged, or is it mostly just when there are links involved?

Things got even more crazy - over 4 million impressions yesterday - about 7-8x more than I was getting 2-3 weeks ago.

One thing regarding links: Click/Visitor count is not improving, so there doesn't appear to be any correlation between the massive increase in retweets/likes/comments/bookmarks for non-linked tweets and any articles I link out to.

And I actually removed a lot of scheduled article tweets 2-3 days ago to see what happened - and what did happen? The impressions shot up even more!

I've read a few times that Musk wants people to stay on Twitter - they don't want people clicking out to a website. Makes sense and it certainly seems to have been added to the algo.

I'm still noticing video/clips that are posted do better than standard tweets, yet most of my highest performing tweets are just standard tweets.

I mean, to be fair, I have over 3 million organic followers, so I SHOULD be getting these numbers - it's the fact I must have been heavily punished for something prior to the last algo update.

Another thing - a lot of people reply asking Grok about what I've shared. Maybe that helps too.

4 million is absolutely insane! That’s a massive win! It really confirms the theory that X is basically an enclosed garden now. The fact that your reach spiked the moment you stopped posting external links is a clear evidence. It’s like the algorithm rewards you for keeping users on the platform instead of stealing them away to a website.

With 3 million followers, you’re finally seeing the numbers you actually deserve, but it’s wild that linked tweets were suppressing you that much. Are you finding that the Grok mentions are actually boosting you into the "For You" feed more, or is it just creating a longer time on post metric that the algo loves?

Either way, definitely sounds like you've cracked the code on the current suppression filters!
