WTF sells anymore?

^ Yep the profit margins have been pounded into the ground, effectively eliminating the small-time sellers... I don't even bother with ebay anymore - just the sites of my native country (non-english). Obviously the market is MUCH smaller, but at least there's still some decent profit margins here and there.

I was recently reading somewhere that said buy below wholesale from ebay and market those products at your own website. After seeing this thread. that method might actually make sense.

the key is to cut eBay out of the equation. Don't pay there fees and you will profit. find a good way to create eBay and paypal accounts at will. then sell on eBay for atleast 2 months with that account never pay them SHIT in fees, then when that account gets closed, open another one rinse and repeat. They are trying to get rid of the little guy, so burn them whenever you can. Burn eBay, make a mokery of paypals buyer protection, and well just burn them. like they have done so many others.

Yep did that for 4 years made a killing

Had around 100 seller accounts, you can use all the featured listings and all that bollox and not pay a penny.

What's selling?? In my opinion not as much as last year.

I have 8 sites (video games etc) and the general sales/traffic levels are about 40% down on last year. The overall level of money around is just lower now - i blame the bankers!!

@RicherJack mate, the point is OP already *WROTE* a method on it, so what you are implying is that he did not do his market research properly, which would lead some to believe that his skills are still leaving room for improvement in certain areas, and unbelievably so he is a respected member - this last one in turn would make us suspect other respected members also know s**t, and at the very end the two of us would be wasting our time trying to learn anything here.

Ah.. the power of inference (peace, mates - only joking, no intention to hijack the thread - OP is a sound marketeer, he had reasons)

I guess I need to set up at Narita airport in summer for all those tourists to sell this CD then concerning this CD and try sell wholesale at the hotels

I was simply stating that I do not believe an information product regarding "making out with japanese women" would sell successfully on eBay.

I was not implying anything of the sort. Take my bit of advice or leave it, it doesn't affect me.

smart search has messed stuff up there, If you do not have good quality scores you will get burried.

Be creative with your keywords on your listings. Creating listings is just as much work as building a blog, sometimes even more. The difference is when the shopper is on ebay, you are competing with all the other listings which are right there in front of them so you have to either be found by different keywords or have the cheapest one. Most of your work is in locating the best prices for hot products.

In the past, I was able to find some good selling, low competition items that were "in style". Finding them takes patience. I would spend a few days just watching listings and sales roll by and when I spotted a few that seemed to be under the radar of the average seller, I would look for wholesalers of that product. For instance, I made a killing on toe rings when the teenage girls were all wearing them. There weren't a lot of sellers but nearly every one listed sold. I did a few days of searching and found a wholesaler who was selling them in sterling silver for about fifty cents each for a $100 purchase. They all came shipped in small zip lock bags so all I had to do was print a shipping label and drop them in an envelope...easy.

There are other auction sites which are becoming popular and have lower fees. You may only get a few sales so you would have to test and weigh the bottom line to know which is best for you.

contact sites directed at Japan Expatriate's (Expats) work out a deal with the owner, they may not be aware there is a clickbank item they can profit from.

Alright, i can't get multiquote to work so I'm going to reply to about 4 in the next few posts.

That would be nice if this worked, but it wouldn't for me. I've been selling niche electronics for over 4 years, it's been my main source of income. Every time I open a new paypal/ebay account, paypal will hold my funds until the products and account are verified and then on top of that, add a 10% rolling reserve to the new account.

Ebay also doesn't let you sell with the buy it now option because you're new, and with what I sell, I won't do an auction because it can go durastically lower than what I paid for it. Most people won't even bid because you're too new to ebay.

Third, if you're selling the same products and logging in with the same IP address to your different accounts, ebay will link the accounts and when one get banned, all of them do. Even if you're not logging in with the same IP, ebay has filters in place that catches your auction wording and pictures to previous auctions.

I recently started doing this with a very niche product I was selling and it worked like a dream, except I wasn't buying the product from ebay. I just set up a site for it and adworded the shit out of it. It took about 3 days get the ad approved and the sales started coming in like crazy. Spent $80 on adwords but made much much more.
