Received this email a couple of hours ago.
WTF, $4.5M?! Damn, some people have no limit on greed.
Will you buy it ?
Man, you should troll the hell out of them.
I do it every time I get emails from these dropping domain spam companies. They send emails like "randomdomain.net" is due to expire, our expert team can ensure that we register it for you... Would you be interested.
So I reply telling them that I have been after that domain for months and I would love to get a hold of it... Also I would be willing to pay $100 for it if they can register it.
I can ask the moon for shittiestdomainever.com - that does not mean someone will pay a king 's ransom for it.
But let 's assume someone does pay. That someone prefers my lovely domain over his lovely 4.5 million. He 's happy to build a site there and I 'm happy to dive in coins like ScroogeMcDuck.
That 's call a win-win exchange. Greed?
Its weird that a site worth that much is just trolling people with similar site names to try and sell it for MILLIONS OF DOLLARS. You think with that kind of site they could afford more legit marketing methods.
Drop them an email telling that it was you who gave this domain in charity to someone.
Anyone with that kind of money to shell out would obviously be smart enough, at at least have the money to pay people to be smart enough to look deeper into the owner and domain.
The issue isn't the greed in this scam, the issue is that the scammer is just an idiot and won't see a penny.
Lisa.com was offered to me for 1 Million
