WTF ?My site got indexed without even trying!

How is this possible? I registered a .info domain 1 week ago and its been under constuction. I don't even want it indexed by Go0gle ATM as its not ready yet. I've not made even one backlink to it and I'm indexed , all I've done is added to webmaster tools but not submitted a sitemap.
I'm not complaining just confused

If you've added to the webmaster tools, then Google has indexed it.

Also, if your domain is parked at your registrar (godaddy, namecheap, etc.) then it gets indexed as well.

Really so why does everyone make such a fluff about getting their site indexed when it this quick and easy ? I suppose they just want to get indexed right just now.

Because a lot of people want 'instant indexing' i.e The site is live, and they want Google to start spidering it within seconds.

Well you are lucky. Even I've been lucky many times but there have been times when my sites did not get indexed even after waiting for days. I got them indexed by paying for backlinks finally.

Haha this happened to me a few weeks ago. I wanted to get indexed to build domain age while i worked on my site... added it in webmaster tools, submitted a site map too (with all of my 2 site pages in it!)..

Within a week i was somehow in spot #2 for my keyword... i didn't want that yet!
