WTF is youtube doing?

I just noticed that, after clicking on a random link about hockey, I got 4 different suggestions in the search bar without typing anything, related to hockey. They were purple, indicating that I've searched for them before. I also got a billion search suggestions taken from keywords from videos of a channel I watch on youtube. Also some random ones like ''funny clips'', ''video montage'' etc.

Are they so desperate that they decide to spam users to get them to search and view more videos?
Just wanted to let everyone know. This appears to be brand new (like a few hours old at best).

EDIT: Many, many more spam suggestions found after typing something into the search bar. This is annoying.

thanks, that is a good source of information and @dpdpdp note that YouTube just rolled out an update, sometimes they just check new features on part of the users and sometime those just new features that getting released to all users

bro i just figured what happened, YouTube did rolled out this feature that remember the last 6 searches the user made on the search bar... but you didn't searched for those terms, you may have VidIQ or TubeBoddy chrome extension installed and they do the searches in the background from your user to check the ranking... what a mess.

Oh shit. Yeah I do have VidiQ. It's absolute spam man, I'm getting a shitload of spammy searches. Wow. Thanks for figuring it out tho.

Log out has been replaced by "Incognito mode".

Can't log out + Can't uninstall= No fucking privacy!

I tried this and it worked for me.
I remove the google acount associated to my youtube channel and the I remove all data from youtube app. I thing the key is to remove the google account

consider that having android with a google account they will always track your movements even though you log out of youtube

NO privacy... NO choice.
As users we should be given the right to choose logout or uninstall.

Hmm maybe because you have only 1 google account tied with your phone? I have like 10 attached and it doesn't auto-log me.
Having none surely would fix that issue too

I have 7 G accounts.
I have the option of...
1. Changing accounts.
2. Incognito mode.
3. No logout option.
I have a Samsung 8 plus with the latest version of yt.

If it was simple I would have rooted the phone and uninstalled YT but with American version that's easier said than done.

The odd thing is I actually own a InternetPrivacy ... Domain name. lol
So I do care about my rights and so should everyone else.

Can't care about something that is already dead. Anyhow you shouldn't even have a youtube/google if you care about privacy
 
They messed upped they system because of the constant updates

Funny. In all my time on YouTube I have never seen a channel like this. Usually they make good use of keeping upcoming changes tot he platform secret. Nice find.
