Wtf is wrong with PayPal

I'm reading this with some anxiety now. The rules mention adult oriented or sexual items, and one of my soon to be built sites is that. Guess I better check out the other payment services mentioned , pretty soon. Really discouraging to hear about your problem with them. A friend of mine, recently got an Ebay suspension. Even though the supposedly Ebay and Paypal are separate companies, in reality they are most likely not. Neither of them are at all are safe to trust your business in. As mentioned in OP. Sometimes the customer service sucks, and always the buyer is right. Hard to believe that the ones that pirated your software are using Paypal. Things are messed up. I think I read about Stripe a month ago. The service looked good, and better for seller. than the way seller is treated on Ebay and Paypal.

@BassTrackerBoats Yeah I thought you they would to, but unfortunately not.

"Thank you for your inquiry and interest in 2Checkout.

We are sorry to inform you that, following a careful review of your application, our Underwriting Department has determined that your submission is not compliant with our Acceptable Use Policy (AUP): http://www.avangate.com/acceptance.php.

Should your focus change towards products or services that are compliant with the Acceptable Use Policy, we would be more than happy to reconsider your application. "

Might possibly be some of my social media software.

"
  1. Sell social media activity, including, Twitter followers, Facebook likes, YouTube views, or any other forms of social media activity."
Stripe have the same clause which is now worrying me.

Damn. This one maybe one of the BHW mods, or Guru's can comment on. I'm constructing a website to sell adult products. And, probably going to be facing the same problem with Paypal. Can't afford to lose Paypal, on account it is what's funding my domain name purchases, hosting, all of it. Definately, feeling for you, and now another thing to stress over.
Uh oh. One down...just read this.Avengate website " (f) items that are considered obscene, (g) items that infringe or violate any copyright, trademark, right of publicity or privacy or any other proprietary right under the laws of any jurisdiction, (h) sexually oriented materials or services and any other age restricted goods or services "
And Paypal as of a 2016 post I read Does not accept adult product either .

I believe we (adult + digital downloads) are considered high risk from what I've read so we need a high risk payment gateway. There are plenty though from the looks of it. Think you just have to pay more.

2Checkout also refused my service (IM service, not selling likes, follows or anything like that), I am a bit concerned that PayPal will ban me too at some point, so I am looking at other options - stripe is not supported in my country. Any thoughts?

Paypal is losing a lot of customers, but also gaining 2 times more at any given time. They don't give a flying fuck about any of us when they know they're most popular payment processor and people will always use them.

I personally no longer use Paypal, but only because I'm lucky enough to NOT actually need it.

I use only Neteller/Skrill at the moment with physical cards & Bitcoin of course.

If you check the acceptable usage policy of paypal, it says (in point 2)

The h) section is pretty interesting. If your software does any scraping (or anything that violates the terms) on any kind of website, you can't use paypal.. E.g. afaik scraping google for any kind of content is against the terms (which is damn funny for obvious reasons).. So, in theory, software like scrapebox should be a bad business for paypal.

Although I could be horribly wrong here. I am not a lawyer.

IMO you've hit the nail in the head.

It's not about selling software or anything else, it's about IM software.

Search engines are trying to criminalize others for doing what they do.

Engine scrapers can destroy all the world's trees scraping the www 24x7 for their own profit, making billions of U$ in the process.

But if you bot their SERPs you're breaking the rules.

Funny times.

So I have a website where I sell internet marketing software. All been going great for the last year. Then I get an email out of the blue from PayPal saying I can no longer do business with them, with no explanation why.

I call them, the guy says he can't tell me why but it's just to "protect PayPal". He also says I can't open any new accounts. So I'm essentially banned now with no idea why.

Only ever had one charge back. Some disputes raised, some refunds given, some escalation, some I won, some the customer won. Pretty normal.

Anyone got any experience with this?

Where do I go from here?

Sad times.

I think a competitor might have screwed you.

I'm only really at the early stages of investigating alternatives I'm hoping stripe won't just auto ban me and if they do ban me they'll give me some time to move over my subscribers. I've got no idea how places like anti-captcha.com manage to use 2checkout and PayPal, must be a constant battle.

Did they buy the software to REALLY know what does the program do? Or they were just guessing from the content on the website.
In jamie's case it is pretty much obvious that he has been HARD (with proofs) reported or just PayPal doing their usual hide and seek game where (unfortunately) I was a victim too, 2 years ago.

I think they didn't. I believe some cunt reported his software which was enough to convince paypal to do further investigation. Jamie's website does say what his software does, in his site.. doesn't it ?(sorry I don't remember.. I downloaded his trials long time back) In that case, paypal will just believe what they read on the website.

Well, that is one of the reasons why you should always "optimize" what you write on your sales website, so that you are able to get "around" for some stuff.

I use only Neteller/Skrill at the moment with physical cards & Bitcoin of course.

I reviewed how to do this.
The mechanics for setting up is complicated, but solvable.
Have to take credit card payments. This will incur cost.
I figured out all the mechanics of setting up a wallet.
Accept bitcoin as an alternative. I wouldn't rely on it as only payment.
Flowchart summary:
Get the wallet. Decide if you will entirely set it up on phone.
I prefer the wallet drive. Security and protection of key is paramount. Would not trust phone.
Payment Gateway
Subscription to bitcoin trade exchange to allow funding from bitcoin to currency.
Only unknown for me is demo. of adult buyer. How many would/do use bitcoin to buy ?
For OP, because of the nature of his product, I would imagine that the buyers are very internet savvy. Thus,
They might be prospect to offer bitcoin as a payment alternative.

Here's the important question. Bitcoin value has dropped , alot.
Somebody that has a good idea of what is happening to cypto, might be able to expand the topic.
I don't understand it, at this point.

PayPal is the worst, avoid it like the plague. I had an account get permanently banned and funds (a few k) frozen for 6 months, annoying to say the least. It also killed a very profitable business. Be aware people..

Even when things go right, PayPal charges a hefty fee and their currency conversion rates are abysmal.

Your tools at supagrowth were good , you should use a black hat way to accept payment via paypal or 2checkout. Now create account in someone else name and bill your customers for web designing. Or serp tracking tool.
You will need to use two websites for this. One is for offering products, and other is in for offering fake webdesign and accepting money.

Indeed. Pharma, adult, digital product, are considered as high risk.
All the big companies are derisking now, it s happen for merchant and bank.
Uncle Sam put pressure on them actually.
But honestly since I m in the business I never found something good about PP so no a big loss
