Why is it wrong? Is the traffic yours?
Go ahead then, de-index your site and don't let google use your content. The tell me who's really wrong.

As long as i answer the question from the searcher, the traffic belongs to me.
If i de-index my website from google, nothing will happen, but if thousands or millions de-index their websites then google is in some deep shit.
As i said, google wouldn't be here without us, and such it still relies on us for everything. If we were to boycott google, then they would go bankrupt.

the SERP is dynamic now. Google will try multiple websites on the top positions and see how people react to them. josh bachynski explain this in one of his videos.

No, not really. Google has invested millions in branding since the 90s. That traffic belongs to them until a user lands on your page, not before.
Google has grown so much people kind of forget it is not a government institution or a non-profit. Google is a privately own, for profit business, and webmasters choose to use its services for their own benefits.
And without google and its model the free Internet of today we all love wouldn't exist. The Internet without google would probably be dominated by the big multimedia companies behind a pay wall, like cable tv but on the Internet. Google has made posible for anyone on the planet to create a website and succeed.

Happy you like my word haha, english is not my first language and I realise that sometimes I freestyle a little bit, I saw that this word do in fact exist but is very rarely used.
But yes my point was that you cannot do anything with google, they are untouchable, even when they steal content! They are like the tax office, you must play by their rules, even if you don't like it.
If Google's so strong, then why do they have all these lawsuits against them?

You have a very good point, even if I think this is peanuts for them and that their power is too big, they could possibly have a lawsuit that really hurt their supremacy but for the moment they do what they want.

Lots of companies have been big and powerful before. IBM was like that, AT&T, Standard Oil...where are they now?
