WTF is webmd.com?

By checking some domains I have found that they was 301 redirected to webmd.com for some time - some for months, some for weeks.
Checking deeper - webmd.com backlink profile - most of backlinks are from 301 redirects - from adult, gambling, etc websites.
What they are doing - hacking websites in mass?
Also, it seems Google does not care about anchors at all.

It's google's personal doctor. Google got 2 more, healthline and Clevelandclinic.
I dont known why WebMD is doing it. Trying to rank cbd, hemp etc may be?
Edit: Ah yes, I already see cbd gummies. No wonder.
I think WebMD is selling guest post/sponsored post and the buyers are doing 301 redirect to rank their posts.
WebMD not only rank for meds but also lots and lots of pseudoscience like manifestation crap and cbd etc.

It looks like those domains might have been hacked and redirected to WebMD, but Google looks at many things beyond just the words in links to decide how to rank sites.
I would suggest you to try telling Google to ignore those bad links using their tool, while also working on getting good links and making great content to show your site is trustworthy.

No, all the domains are 301 redirected all pages -> root domain (webmd.com).

If there would be buyers of quest posts -
1. They will not be redirecting own sites for some time to homepage of webmd.
2. They will not be able to redirect such amount of real sites to homepage of webmd.
