wtf is this website??

A buddy of mine showed me this website here --> https://polosan(.)vercel(.)app/ and has said that he would be interested in building something similar for the purpose of SEO, but I'm not sure he is fully aware of what he's asking for, as the website appears to be quite spammy.

Why in the world would someone ever create a website like this? What is the purpose of backlinking a crapload of images like this? If it was PBN-related I feel like whoever built it doesn't understand niches, as each page of images seems to be completely independent of the others.

Any guesses?

a competitor of mine has like 10 websites on vercel and apparently the many backlinks from it are good according to ahrefs

looks like something similar to heroku and you can sign up for free and your can create searchable pages for free
