Wtf is going on with Google

This is not supposed to be a "rant" or something, but the rankings in my niche are so extremely unstable.
I was ranking for around 20 keywords in the Top 5 with one website, now all of them get pushed back to page 3. Out of nowhere.

Last week another website of mine has been pushed out of the Top 10 back to page 3, now slowly recovering and some are still in nowhere.

What the heck is going?

Isn't there something like an "authority" website anymore? Aren't there stable rankings anymore? Why would they just randomly smash the rankings again and again?

Normally I would just say: Okay, lets adjust to the new algo. But what is this "algo" about? Random rankings? There is absolutely no sense of what is happening in the serps in my niche.

I feel you. I did an onpage SEO to one of my main properties, Jumped from 8 to 1 in 1 week, than I check it 1 week later, I am in page 2.
Something weird going on there since March

Filter your pages which has dropped in rankings at the query level in Console , and send to them internal links from your other posts with exact anchors

Well, the website has 100 unique handwritten and around 10 pages. All the rankings dropped. Like Google devaluated the whole website. At the same time they push websites in the top 5, which got unreadable spun content.

Should I create new posts with internal links and send just a handful web2.0 to them to strengthen them?

Possibly look at your internal links however Google is a fickle beast you may find you recover quickly in a week one of my sites was jumping around but has now settled down back on page 1

I have reached the same conclusions. Since last March and you can't make sense of anything.

My well established 3 years old dominating ranking websites are being pushed down with sub semi blank pages with no backlinks or authority. And for first time in 11 years in SEO.. I am being pushed down by by different pages from same website!

Like went from 1 to 5 .. because first 4 positions are the article page + tags page + category page + another article page from same website (duplicate + spamming + thin content algorithms anyone??)

Random Ranking is the most rational explanation I have heard till now.. they are just randomly shuffling the ranking and disabled all previous spam checkers in the algorithm

They say that RankBrain has been implemented and that the algorithm updates on the fly without a google intervention.

don't know if true but in competitive niches I would imagine this fluid ranking being chaos.

I have zero experience and knowledge and offer genuine but invaluable opinions

I just really hope this is only temporary and rankings are going to settle soon.

As I said: Before I could build a high quality site, unique relevant content etc. drop some high quality backlinks and it would rank fine in a low/medium competition niche. Now it seems Google prefers to rank its own YT videos or spun content. Right now the german serps in my niche is chaos. The top 5 results ARE MAKING NO SENSE. The content makes no sense. Its a spun text translated from english to german. Usually an english spun text is unreadable already, imagine you translate this shit into a complex like german.

The most funny part is the websites just stay there. Its like the "rank brain" thinks this is high quality or relevant content for fucks sake.

At the end of the day its American.
It understands english, its likely its the same tool to convert to german that its converting back to english as GOLD
