    Alright,

    Here's my scenario:

Purchased domain via GoDaddy, set my DNS to my HG account blah blah..

Added the domain to HG, set up my DB, uploaded WP contents and updated config file...

Accessed the new blog, did all my plug in stuff etc.. normal routine..

When I type the domain into any browser, or go to "visit site" via the wp dashboard I get some bullshit searchportal.information.com link spam site..

    WTF?

This is my domain, I own it and have access to it - yet somehow there's some bullshit link spam showing up?

    http://greenparentingblog.com

Have I been hacked? Any help from the pro's around here?

I looked up this information.com company - looks kind of shifty to me...

P.S. I'm not a noob and have 30 + wp blogs which I maintain - so you don't have to talk in noob format, abbreviations are more than welcome.

    Many thanks!

    Cheers,

    BTheory

looks right to me, except there is some issue with your template:

    Code:

Warning: include(layouts/) [function.include]: failed to open stream: No such file or directory in /xxx/public_html/greenparentingblog.com/wp-content/themes/flashnews/home.php on line 11

Warning: include(layouts/) [function.include]: failed to open stream: No such file or directory in /xxx/public_html/greenparentingblog.com/wp-content/themes/flashnews/home.php on line 11

Warning: include() [function.include]: Failed opening 'layouts/' for inclusion (include_path='.:/usr/lib/php:/usr/local/lib/php') in /xxx/public_html/greenparentingblog.com/wp-content/themes/flashnews/home.php on line 11

Your site is fine...your dns just wasn't updated yet and you were getting a parking page. I got this before also. Looks fine on my end now though.

Edit: yes I see the errors also...forgot to add that.

You have errors in your code .

You host with hostgator they are the ones that hijacked your blog . they do it all the time.

You just tried to view your site before it propagated with the domain registrar.

Maybe your ISP doesn't update that frequently.

If you are on a major ISP you should have much time for the domain name to propagate meaning that almost instantly when registering a domain name and creating your account, your site will show up almost instantly.

Thanks for the quick reply BHers...

There's no error in my theme code - the theme heavily relies on custom fields and javascript to make it look pretty, and until I populate it with content and images in the appropriate areas those errors will appear. It would be nice if I was high though...

I'm with a major ISP, same company I've been with for years, and I've never had a problem, nor had to wait this long for the DNS stuff to resolve.

I've also been with HG for quite a while and have never had an issue with them jacking any of my shit.

So you guys can see the site, but yet on my end I still get this searchportal bullshit...

Interesting. That pretty much resolves what I was concerned about.

Well, hopefully it'll work itself out my morning...

    Cheers.

I know - this is why I became concerned. I've never had to wait more than a few minutes from switching the DNS from my registrar and having the site up and begin loading it with content etc...

    It's usually instantaneous...

sometimes it could take 24-48 hrs to propagate the new DNS. Usually it's much faster, but i've had this happen too. If it's still jacked up in a couple days, be concerned, but just keep trying. U could try flushing dns later and see if that works, or have other people in other areas test your page after a while and see if they can view it.

Yeah - in my 12 months of doing the webmaster thing I've never waited more than 5 minutes.. If it's not up and going by tomorrow afternoon I'm going to bring the heat on GoDaddy - I'm really getting fed up with them... and I fucking hate their interface!!!

    Thanks.

Godaddy is a DREAM compared to 1and1 when it comes to DNS! The last time that I had your problem with Godaddy and Hostgator, all I did was send HG a support ticket and it was resolved in a couple minutes. If you have entered your HG DNS info in the registration process at Godaddy, I don't think that there is much else that GD can do for you. I don't think that there is a need to "bring the heat" on either company :)

GoDaddy is one of the best company for DNS propogation.
I think that their TTL is extremenyl low and NS updated very frequently.
If you still can;t see your site either change DNS to your PC or try ipconfig /flushdns to CMD

    Thank you
