WTF Host gator!!!!

Yeh I have been with Hostwinds for a month now and they are great. I also have sites hosted with hostgator and they are all working fine. I guess I am just one of the lucky ones lol Hope I didn't speak too soon

HG is dead dead dead!!!!! Please don't use them or any of the hosting company's that where bought up by
"Endurance International Group" (EIG) Their service is absolutely horrible and their servers unmaintained.

They are all probably in the same datacenter, hence why multiple Companies having problems. :P


I have also used hostwinds in the past and it is no comparison to hostgator. It's garbage. I lost a ton of website data with hostwinds in the past and can never forgive them for that. At least I know it's safe on hostgator, they barely ever have downtime.

I also lost data on hostwinds in its early days but Peter has bent over backwards to renew my faith in him and the servers I have now are faster then I've ever had from mainstream hosts and the customer service has been second to none.
 
No surprises about Bluehost. They don't give a shit about customers.
 
Cyber attack or not, they should be prepared for everything, 24/7.

Been lots of attacks happening lately. Lots of big game servers have been getting DDOS'ed as well.
 
Anyone who scams their affiliates out of their rightly earned commissions doesn't deserve my business. I no longer have any sites hosted with them

My clients websites are down as well. I will be looking at your hosting now, Thank you for the coupon :).

Also quick marketing Idea came to my mind for use, maybe you could message all the people that are tweeting Hostgator about there websites being down? As I have seen people asking on the tweets for better hosting companies.
 
This downtime is not related to attacks but is more likely due to the NSA plugging in some special routers. ;)

The only hint HG has given is this message "How could this happen?

Usually, the cause is a single user who has allowed uncontrolled processes to overload the server. We will suspend that user and restore the server to working condition." So we shall see. EIG prolly would not ever admit it though.

That is a perfect idea for hostwinds to do.

Step 1:
Sign up at datasift.com and get free 10 dollar credits to use.

Step 2:
Setup a few twitter streams to the twitter firehose
Streams can be: keywords related to hostgator, website down, hosting sucks etc.

Step 3:
Get an automatic tweeter bot that will reply to these tweets in real-time as they happen, you will need to have datasift push those tweets via webhooks, to a database, to a file or w/e so your bot can auto reply to those tweets in real time.

Step 4:
PROFIT$$$

Yeah mine are back, but that was 3 unforgivable hours on one of the biggest sales days of the year. Just done with them.
