The same thing happened to me yesterday and my site is old I thought that the sandbox was just for new sites

It happens when you get a lot of backlinks to a site quickly.

It happened to me too. I was #18 on google under a competitive term then got too many links too fast and got G slapped and found my page on the #140 or something like that. I just kept getting links and changing my title tags and tweaking the body copy and it took a good 3-4 weeks but now my site is #12. I'm going to continue link building on a daily basis probably 5-10 links a day from very high PR sites.

Using different anchor text, improve on page optimization help me out of sandbox.. now, my site is on 1st page again...wohoo..
