I am thinking about getting rid of the Amazon affiliate program. I usually bring in about $200 to $500 a month through Amazon. This is a small amount compared to what I make with Adsense and I probably could make more using GA but I want to put some eggs in a new basket, so to speak. This month I have had almost 600 clicks and only 3 sales. I can believe how poorly they are converting. BTW this is all search engine traffic.

Normally, I have a conversion rate of about 3.5%, which I personally think is absolute crap this month it is under .5%. Any thoughts. :wt:...

Ya I noticed that too, this month is sucking for Amazon. Maybe it's just cuz it's June

Just seems like I am wasting targeted traffic is all. Want to turn those visitors into cash and Amazon is making that difficult.

Maybe try some other physical product affiliates?

Type your product name then "affiliate" in quotes to Google and see if anyone else runs a affiliate program for your products.

Just a thought

also amazon only does 24 hour cookie a lot of these other physical product affiliates do 30 or 60 days!

@GlobalP Thanks for the tip, I will see if there are any affiliate for the niches that I am in.

I never have that low of a conversion rate with Amazon. If you are using a widget I would suggest not using it anymore. The reason I say this is because people tend to click on the widget for another product they might have seen scrolling and then go off the page that opens from the widget once they do this they are no longer considered your customer but instead are amazons customers. That's actually something I have complained to Amazon about in the past. IMO, I think if you send someone to another site and they order something you should get the commission not just for the product they clicked on. Hope this helped.
