Hi Guys,

My Laptop has finally decided that it will not work anymore.. i have had it fixed 4 to 5 times in the last 3 months and it died again today...

I was using a Dell XPS 1530 - 3 GB ram...

I am looking for an equivalent or better laptop - Budget $1.5 to 2k MAX

I am looking for a laptop that

1) Will run good for my all blackhat software - senuke x and scrapebox

2) good gaming laptop as well.. i play a lot of games!!!!

PLzzzzzzzzzzzzz suggest...
I live in India.. so might not have the latest models available in US... + have budget constraints...

Sont Vaio Z - Im a fanboy.

yup.. its a bit out of my range...
it will cost around 3 k ...

i am looking for something in between 1.5 to 2 k

SONY VAIO F , have one with an i7 and 8GB of ram .

Can't say i've ever owned or tested a better laptop :)

I would go for a Dell XPS 15 which cost 53,400/- INR. Its easy to buy it in any Chroma Shop and it also has a on site warranty. I don't own this but I know someone who does. Its value for money :D

Get a refurb one, or a secondhand one. They come in far less than the new cost.

Any idea if this is any good
Dell Alienware M11xR3

I'm happy with my HP Pavilion, 3 years + and (knock on wood) still working.

Though some of the older models do have an overheating issue.

Dell Alienware M11xR3

I wouldn't recommend buying that one, the screen is freaking tiny, only 11 inches hence M11. lol

Get a higher end Lenovo(IBM) Ive had a few and ive never had issues with any of them (knocks on wood)

You won't regret it

That or a Macbook pro is good as well

Just got a new MBP 15" - ended up getting the newest model all tricked out so I spent just over $2200 - and I couldn't be happier. I'm running the bulk of my business software on the Mac side, but I've got all the Windows exclusive SEO tools (SENuke X, Scrapebox, IBP etc) running alongside OSX via VMWare.

BUT if you absolutely don't want to go over your $1500 to $2000 mark you could get last years model off their refurb site and you'll be happy.

I had an original MBP 15" Core Duo that was almost 5 years old - I literally beat the shit out of that thing all day every day for 5 years straight and it's still just as reliable and responsive as a lot of the newer Windows 7 machines that I'll see friends running.

Those brand new Windows machines compared to my new one: there is no comparison.

I don't want to start a Mac Vs. PC war here - just stating my personal experience.

The best part about these Unibody MBPs is they are rigid as shit inside and out: if someone tries to steal it from you just crush their skull in with it. Then pop it open and post about it on FB.

I have a HP G62 with i3, 3GB RAM, all BH tools worked perfectly, now they moved on a vps. :)
I definitely recommend it however if you are against LED monitors avoid it (I use it indoor, once it sees sun lights I cannot spot anything on the monitor)..

thanks a lot guys for the suggestions...

here are a few that i was narrowing down

mac book pro

dell alienware - 14x

Asus gaming series -- they seem good as well...

will check out toshiba and other models as well...
