Hey guys,

What if someone targeted the wrong keywords for a URL with the same domain

domain.com/someurl1.html
1st-keyword-for-URL1 -- SERP #4
2nd-keyword-for-URL1 -- SERP #5

domain.com/someurl2.html
1st-keyword-for-URL2 -- SERP #2
2nd-keyword-for-URL2 -- SERP #7

I had already built some links and started ranking nicely as above. (using correct url/keywords)

both same domain... different url and different keywords

Now here is the thing...
While giving someone the URL and keywords I made a mistake and gave the keywords got switched.

So by mistake keywords for URL 1 was targeted toward url 2 and vice versa.

It's similar niche. but not the same.

lets say rat and snake
both same niche but totally different topics.

will my SERP get affected? will this have any effect on my ranking?

Thanks

If your site has in same niche then there is no issue about ranking..but you can loose the ppl who are searching for a specific term and you are offering the different one.

I don't think there will be any negative effect on your SERPs, you may have slight positive effect if its same niche. But we cannot estimate correctly, every site and keyword if different.

If you have a chance to change the links, you should consider changing them or just leave as is, a link is a link. Since they are relevant.

Don't worry about the negative effect if that is what is your concern. Many of us use general terms as anchor texts which is only showing positive results.
