Hey guys

I'm somewhat new to SEO and content creation and the one thing which i have problems wrapping my head around is what defines good content?

Sure it has to be unique, well written, provides value, etc. but when you're writing about factual stuff like health or fitness, there are only so many ways you can enhance on it. Unless you go balls to the walls and do a 10,000 words article on a topic.

Then again, for those of us who do not have the capacity to generate that kind of content, how can i still write unique content that visitors would find good?

A good content should be precise and justify with the topic of the Article that you've chosen. There are many well written reference articles available online, you can just read them and got more idea to enhance your writing skills. Each writer is having its own thinking and way of formatting the content of an article! I am sure you'll also have it if you are interested in reading and writing!

Actionable, well researched and comprehensively covering the chosen topic.

I’d say that’s a good start, plus good grammar, spelling and readability of course.

Write for rankbrain, best place to read about copywriting for this is backlinko.com/google-rankbrain-seo and backlinko.com/seo-copywriting
Very easy to read

Make sure while doing a research to write an article, avoid referencing too many articles. It may confuse you and you may end writing an article of long Page.

Practice makes perfect. But, if you don't have time to enhance your writing style, then you could use writing apps. They usually have suggestions on how you can improve your content. Nevertheless, the best thing you could do is to research your topic well and optimize the text. Even if your grammar is perfect, light or no research at all will lower the value of the content.

Find someone you like to read and try imitating them for a while. Eventually you will start writing your own way but keeping what you like in that person’s style.

Suggestions I have my content team follow:

1.Readability - proper spacing, page breaks every couple hundred words.
2. Relevant images - every 300-400 words
3. Visitor Engagement factors - social media, commenting, voting, quizes etc
4. Semantically relevant keyword usage and topics
5. Headings and sub-headings
6. Links and references to authoritative content and resources
7. Intent based - i.e. what was the intent behind the search query you are targeting? Does your content match that intent?

The simpler - the better. Don't write in long sentences using complicated words. Always have your audience in mind.

Implement the Rule of 3 to Create Powerfully Engaging Content

Wherein lies the magic in the number three?

It’s no accident that the number three is pervasive throughout some of our greatest stories, fairy tales, and myths.

It’s also no coincidence that some of the most famous quotes from throughout history are structured in three parts.

Even standup comedians routinely use the Rule of Three for their punchlines.

It is based on scientifically proven psychology. We have become proficient at pattern recognition by necessity, and three is the smallest number of elements required to create a pattern.

This combination of pattern and brevity results in memorable content, and that’s why the Rule of Three will make you a more engaging writer.

The simplest (but time-consuming) way to write better content than anyone else on a topic is to research what the best existing content on it is on the Internet and 10x it. Write a 10 times longer and better article in every way, something that your competitors will see and say, "it's too much of an effort to try to top this".

Other than the awesome Copyblogger website that Planck recommended, also try the even more awesome Smartblogger website (owned by Copyblogger's best writer, the legendary Jon Morrow).

Health and fitness aren't just factual subjects. They are topics that everyone can relate to! Pretend that you are talking to someone that you just met in a cafe, a real human with the same issues and worries we all have about staying fit and healthy. Doing this makes it much easier to write in a friendly conversational (but also informative) style.

If you're writing content for your monetization (affiliate product, service, etc) you should analyze what makes that item exciting in the first place. Then figure out how to explain that aspect across several articles.

Adding to what has been said above, I think in addition to the content being written in a quality way, it also needs to be displayed well - make sure that if it's a fitness blog that it has graphical representations of what you're trying to present.

Here's a simple tip that works for me all the time. Write the first draft without pondering too much on the details like using the right vocabulary, sentence structure, etc. Just write whatever comes to your mind (after doing your research of course). That's how you come up with unique content. Then, revise it over and over again until your article looks impeccable. Personally, how much I revise an article depends on how much a client is paying me. Hope it helps

Honestly, taking a course on udemy or something helps. Then after that just read read read content. If you know what good writing is, it's easier to identify and learn when reading stuff.

Gun-to-head writing, copywriting to be precise.

Google that.

Thank me later.

Creating really good content comes down to a balance of structure and creativity. All of the suggestions above are spot on, but you also need to think about the way you layout the thread of your content.

Always keep in mind precisely what you are trying to say. Make sure your copy reflects this in a coherent way that's easy to follow. Your points need to flow naturally and build up with each paragraph, to develop your argument. That way the reader feels like they've actually got something out of reading your writing.

If you're creating content that has a lot of competition, your work must stand out in some way. Writing identically to other sources, people will not come back to your site. There must be some kind of character in this.

Of course, you must also ensure linguistic correctness and aesthetics.
