Writing a YouTube related app for marketers!

Hey everyone,
I just got my google app engine acc in place and would like to write an application for YouTube datamining. Everything will be done in Python and will also be freely accessible to everybody. I realize that I'll most probably will need to move to my own box later on, but for now GAE will do well.

Here's the general concept:
-Scrape YouTube for various datasets (usernames, videos, descriptions and so on)
-Measure trends (whats popular now, what was popular a week ago and so on)
-Trend predictions (based on several indicators, including but not limited to youtube itself)

Basically, a free4all youtube dataminer.

I'll start coding the scripts today (need to familiarize myself with YTs API a little, haven't worked with it for quite some time now) and will probably drop a link to the pre-alpha release of the scraper tomorrow.

Suggestions and everything else are very welcome! Got an idea for the miner? Post it up here or drop me a message!

Hey mate,

thanks for the feedback! Just working on it now... Not overly difficult so should be up and running within a couple of days! Maybe you could think of some additional features to add to the bot (in terms of research and datamining).

To everybody else: can anybody suggest a good YouTube keyword research source? I've tried the official one but it seems rather inaccurate... Would like to build a good keyword tool (possibility to research multiple keywords, potential profits and so on). I'll probably create some type of algo to use with the official source (in order to adjust its accuracy) but maybe I'm just missing an obvious solution...
