I thought wnateg was using the basic fundamentals of how to write an essay. And to break that thought process up he is using the topic of every so many paragraphs as the H2 tag. Books are still written in this format, so I can't imagine why Google would be penalizing for writing properly. But then again he is getting critiqued for something he is clearly doing, which is simply confusing.

And bump because this is one of the few useful threads on this forum in a very long time.

Thank you! That's certainly works to pull the reader in.

This post doesn't mention it because I tried to just focus on the writing aspect, but I include pictures, google maps, social lockers with downloads, custom videos, polls, ratings, and anything else that is relevant that could either keep the reader on that page or hook them enough to make them view multiple pages.

jason fladlien has an course on 7 minute articles in which he shows how to create an article in 7 minutes. He uses dragon naturally speaking article

This is a really helpful guide. There's just one issue: using a conjunction (therefore, and, etc.) with a semicolon is grammatically incorrect, and I can't justify it stylistically either.

For the majority of content, semi-colons are best avoided. Not everyone understands their use, readers and writers included. More often than not, the same effect can be achieved with more common punctuation. Of course, they do have stylistic advantages but only if you know how to use them properly and effectively.

Otherwise, as I said, useful tips.

I agree with the word count, but as long as it's not waffle. A lot of articles only think about the word count, and when you're reading these articles, they have so much waffle or repetitiveness.

Great guide and information though, bookmarked.
