Hi bhw..
Just wanted to ask if anyone has experienced the wordpress admin page in namecheap returning the error 404 and the site is still viewable when you type the url. Please note that i did not change anything for the past week. and it has been working since 3 days ago.
I have contacted their live chat and they said "The issue is caused by the fact that folder where your WordPress installation - /home/******- does not contain WordPress files anymore, only custom .html documents."
This wordpress admin page in question is in an addon domain. the main domain associated in the namecheap hosting is still working and accessible. and i checked the site via ftp and no wp files are there.... only html files.
i;ve asked how to resolve this and the said "Unfortunately, server backup does not contain WordPress files as well."
is this an issue with wordpress, namecheap or me? i want to know if i could have prevented this..
i have been a client in namecheap for quite sometime now and this is the first time this happened and it seems they can't give any resolution.
