Is G going to punish my blog site that is currently #1 if i add WPROBOT?
(for duplicate content?)

thanks

woooo good question.. i think you should ask it in the blooging sub forum
for a speedy answer

There is no penalization for dup content, it will just not rank as well as original. If you use a mix of original and dup the effect is often hardly to detect.

thanks and thanks.

i have read and read and read.

half the people say YES the other half say NO.
o well, i guess i will stop if i fall from #1 =))

You shouldn't get any penalty. There are tons of huge sites that scrape content from other sources. Especially if you have your own unique content on there, you shouldn't have a problem.

Also, one way to further insure you from getting hit is to setup WPRobot to display the content in a blockquote format with a small piece of generic text above it saying something like "This is a great article about #KEYWORD#". If you want another layer of protection, just do what Google wants and keep a link back to the source of the original article somewhere in the post.

Use another addon like WPUnique to make your WPRobot posts unique. Seems ok for me so far.

I am pretty sure that the dupe content penalty only applies to backlinking. Say, if you post an article at ezinearticles you get some link power right? Now if you post that same article to articlesbase, goarticles etc you will not get the same power from those articles as Google sees the same content point to the same place. So yes it is "duplicate content" in the sense that it is posted somewhere else but the penalty everyone is talking about only applies to backlinking. Hope this clears stuff up for you.

There's your answer in plain english.

Is there an option in WP Robot to link back to the original? I can't find it if there is.

And do those plugins really work that make your content unique?

I dont know if its a coincedence but i had 2 websites ranked on page 1 for specific keywords, since the intrduction of WP-Robot my sites are nowhere to be seen.Don't you think I'm pissed.

For the article module- you have the option to include the {authortext} in the article or not. If you include the {authortext}, you are citing the original article and wont be penalized. Also, many people use plugins to strip the links from the content they scrape. If you keep the links in the content, this will further protect you from a dup content penalty.

The more authority your website has, the better the chances to rank for this kind of content. You can outrank the original content owner accordingly. I would not be concerned with dup content, but rather to make sure everything else is in good shape and that you do not get de-indexed for something else. Being de-indexed is the real danger.

Oh ok thanks for that answer man!

Yeah WPROBOT has an option to remove all links for articles....DOESNT WORK.
then i noticed something...

i THINK it might be making all links NOFOLLOW rather than stripping them???

isnt that the secret? keep the links to the rightful owners but NOFOLLOW them so they dont remove your JUICE??

Correct me if I'm wrong here guys, but the purpose of the nofollow attribute is to make sure search engines don't follow the link at all. I don't know for sure if it would apply in this case, making it so that you are not citing the original article in the search engines' eyes.

If you want to be safer, just leave the links in... doesn't hurt anything except a little bit of PR leakage from your site.

If you want to be blackhat-ier (TM), take the links out and risk getting a penalty.

I guess the question you have to ask yourself is- "Is a possible dup content penalty worth keeping every once of PR juice?"

what does wprobot actually does?is it like grabbing content from other people's blog??
