I download or uploaded rather a free wp theme
how do I change ad to what appears in the right side bar?

they show 4 square ads at 125X125 each
it even shows "125X125 advertisement"

I guess I'm expected to see somewhere in the dashboard area
something that indicates a change to those ad locations
but I don't see it

I mean i see on the left in the dashborad area
comments;

links
pages
media
posts
....and so forth, but I don't see anything obvious like for example
"ads" or "sidebar ads"

do I have to go into the code itself? or is it already listed
in WP I just haven't figured it out?

thanks

In the dashboard goto "Appearance" then "Widgets" have a look for any sidebar widgets name "Ads" etc if theres nothing there you will proberly need to edit theme code.

thank you trader,

so then many of these themes have "no value" in as far as
some of the things they display on the template?

because if that's the case I might as well use a free html or css
template at least I'm not "fooled" into what I'm getting....

I guess I expect a little more from WP

if it's so "menu" driven or maybe more appropriate terminology
would be "dashboard" and "functional friendly" within the
dashboard, the idea that "adveritsement 125X125" is shown on
the "theme template" you saw when you downloaded it, then
going into the dashboard and learning

you really have to go into the "code"

sorta defeats the purpose of the "dashboard friendly" idea
behind WP because with all the sections listed in the dashboard the
"advertisement 125X125" that the theme showed, really aren't there to
manipulate or change?

just seems like an odd paradox

am I missing something? maybe only specific templates
work with WP? even though they list as "wordpress themes"

can you enlighten me?

hali~!:)
