I started a blog on Bluehost with shared hosting, The loadtime was awefull!!!
So I thought I had to upgrade to a more expensive package. I found a gig on fiverr and it promised to speed up the loadtime. I also used cloudfire.
Suddenly my loadtime dropped to below 2 seconds.

Is it a scam to upgrade?? I paid 5 dollars for one time.
I nearly upgraded to a different host and package.

really depends on what the upgrade covered. If it was an upgrade and they just gave you hard drive space then yes.

If the upgrade gave you more resources for ram and so on then yes its worth it.

It also depends on how the server is set up and what software they are running and how many customers they have on that same server as you.

The big boys tend to way over sell the servers.

its not really about moving up the package. what you paid for on fiverr is optimization. it can be done yourselves for free. it's the simplest thing to do. it depends on traffic and how heavy your page is. if you have a spike in traffic, no shared host can save you. but if your traffic is spread out, even the cheapest plan in any host can handle 1k visitors with ease with proper optimization.

I suggest to stay away from hosting that says "Unlimited" its like saying "Hey there, do you wanna buy 5$ for unlimited amount of water ?" And when you're over using the amount you're suppose "given" set by the hosting they'll be like "hey, you know you're using too much from us and we've to cut our losses so yeah...."

I stay away from such hostings.
