I hope this is in the right category, I was a little unsure of where to put this one.
This is for a blog running WordPress.
I want to add a series of social media buttons into the header area so people can click on them to get taken to my corresponding FB, Twitter, Pinterest, etc. pages.
I also would like something that can add smaller icons to posts/pages to allow people to click to share that post/article/page on a given social media platform (ie twitter button to tweet the post, FB icon to share it on FB, etc.)
Ideally one tool that does both of these things would be great, but if it has to be two plugins, so be it.
I searched for "social media" in WordPress Plugins, and the top one is "Social Media Share Buttons & Social Sharing Icons" so I tried that out. BARF... Just the customization menus alone look like crap, it is rife with spelling errors and grammar issues, there are these shitty sloppy overlays and it is just constantly trying to upsell you on some shit every 30 seconds. I literally didn't even finish trying it out, uninstalled based on gut feeling alone.
It just simply gave me the impression of being shady and not likely to be stable/well-supported, and not likely to be around in the long run.
I definitely want something that is well-polished, stable, not a performance hit, not trying to do some sketchy shit in the background, frequently updated, likely to persist for many years. Paying for a premium version is totally fine if it meets these criteria.
