ok just a question here i have noticed that some SEs handle blogs differently than html mini sites. i just wanted to know all of your opinions about this as far as what your results are... and to which is better to use when doing niche marketing

I've been using blogs for this sort of thing, but I notice I need to add new content to the blog rather often which is why I'd like to experiment with mini-sites if other users recommend them to you in here.

Im a blog type of person. Make it look like a website, throw up all in one seo and then you get great serp rankings

from my experience blogs get indexed very quickly and without any effort if you don't have bad neighbors (some times I end up with the "Just another blog" standard and k2 theme cached simply because Google discovered it before I actually had time to change theme and add content).
G expects blogs to update more often than other websites - if you don't (or use any sort of scheduled publication), the bots start crawling it less and less often.

minisites are better as fire-and-forget (just as itrevor said). each has its strong points, imho.

google and blogs are a pair google just loves blogs because they usually content rich and are frequently updated.

i think i may go back to making minisites so i can spend more time getting quality BLs and web 2.0 sites... i like the idea of setting and forgetting... i think managing my time doing minisites for different keywords to dominate the micro niche would be better...

I use both... Minisites used as landing pages and my blogsites to point to my minisites... Building (essentially) a linkwheel landing strip with several blogs all pointing at my minisites. Then promote the whole wheel like some promote their single site.

This way things look "normal" and I have alot more built in "targets" .....

this is what i was thinking about trying, treating each 2.0 as a mian site when it comes to BLs... in my opinion from reading and researching further i think minisites are the way to go...
