Would you tap this?

One thing that I hate when it comes to ranking sites is beating big, older, trusted sites with bigger DA. They don't even have to target a specific KW and still they rank on first page almost without any problem.

Anyways, I was searching for some new niches and found a KW (niche?) that I would like to try, since it's also my hobby. But I'm not sure about the elbow grease that will be needed in order to make this viable. I have never asked a question like this, so I said to myself - hey, let's give it a try.

KW is three words, English, 2.900 monthly searches, $5 CPC

SERP goes as followed:

1. PR N/A, PA 50, DA 79, KW isnt in URL, meta title or description
2. PR 3, PA 43, DA 71, KW is in URL, meta title or description - but obviously isn't targeted.
3. PR 4, PA 55, DA 86, KW is in meta title and description, not in the URL
4. PR N/A, PA 51, DA 79, KW is in URL, meta title or description - but obviously isn't targeted.
5. PR 1, PA 27, DA 29, KW is in URL, meta title or description - but obviously isn't targeted.
6. PR N/A, PA 61, DA 93, KW is only partially in URL, meta title and description
7. PR 4, PA 48, DA 56, KW is in URL, meta title - targeted, description has the words but arent targeted
8. PR N/A, PA 63, DA 91, KW is only partially in URL, meta title and description
9. PR 2, PA 51, DA, 61, KW is targeted in URL and description, doesnt happen to be in Title
10. PR 3, PA 57, DA 92, KW is in URL, meta title or description - but obviously isn't targeted.

All of these are subpages and not domains.

So - would you go for it?

OP, it all depends on your resources and time. I prefer going for a bit more than 2,900 MS but it`s up to you.

Go through all the domains and find out how many links are going to the page that is ranking. This should give you a good idea of what you will need (it will be a lot more because of the authority of that site in total).

Then create a site about it man. If it is your hobby, then why not go for it? It will take a while, but it certainly seems possible.

Most of the pages have zero links leading to them, but the domains have thousand/tens of thousands link pointing at them. Hence my dilemma...
