I'm starting a YouTube channel about politics, not the traditional ones, I will be denouncing war crimes commited by a specific country (not going into details here).

I'm not sure if I should show my face or not.

What are the risks and what measures would you recommend me to take in order to avoid being in a dangerous spot?

I have read that if you disturb a wasp's nest. These wasps will sting back.
The same logic applies to politics. If you attack the left wing, the left will attack.
If you attack the right wing, the right will attack.
At the same time other side will laugh and you will get friends from this other side....

The world is becoming increasingly politicized; political leanings are constantly intensifying.

If you start making videos about politically sensitive topics, there is a significant risk that one side or the other will attack you—whether physically or online.

Personally, I wouldn't show my face, though I’d probably use my real voice. Wearing some kind of mask might be a good idea, but I wouldn't recommend showing your actual face—unless, of course, you're interested in entering politics at some point in the future.

Videos like this can serve as a good springboard for a political career. Of course, you also have to bear in mind that the media might label you a "conspiracy theorist" in the future. Naturally, it all depends on which political camp you are targeting in these videos—since you are, after all, discussing war crimes committed by one political force or the other.

You could gain credibility, but it could also lead to higher risks for your privacy and reputation.

Copy Asmongold. He is a twitch streamer and he posts on Youtube

Conservative. Anti-crime. Anti-idiot of any politics. Trolls EVERYONE.

He is worth $40 million.

I kid you not

You probably don't have to have the roaches on your walls like he does

He is on many hours a day

But if you are going to rant 8 hours a day you will probably fail.
It must not be about you. You must show all the morons you disagree with

Very risky . Avoid it. There is no point on trying to fight against powerful people to you. Just ignore them.

Let's be realistic, unless you become a super popular youtuber, which I doubt, it's not so common, the real risk is to be monitored by some intelligence agencies and visiting that country.

For example, if you talk shit about country X, if you try to visit that country, they will refuse your entrance. Depending on the country, you might be even mentally tortured for some hours in an obscure interview. But you are denouncing war crimes committed by that country, so there is no reason to visit it.

Something more realistic would be having more difficult in visiting ally countries, they share information between each other, they might allow your entrance, but it will be tiring to pass through some extensive interviews.

Unless you become a big fish, I can't think about real security issues. There are tons of micro influencers and mid size political commentators, they might be monitored in a not so dark list, but they won't chase you in other country.

Also, there are doxxing gangs, fake accusations, groups in the other side trying to invent and spread some lies. This is not so likely to happen, but if you become mildly popular, you can be targeted, doxxed, they can spread your personal data and say bullshit about you.

I know some political youtubers who were chased on X, some gangs started to talk they were pedos or killed someone, just straight up lies, but they are backed by some political organizations, they have bots, they can easily get this lie viral and reach +100k views. And when people think you are a murderer or a pedo, they will send some gifts for your house (doxxed address), put your family at risk and so on. Not likely to happen, unless you start to bother some powerful entities.
