If someone was trying to scam you,

and there was an opportunity to scam him instead,

Would you do it?

It's ridiculous, some people are just so blatant and they think you know nothing. So do you just play along and pretend you don't or be upfront?

Some people these days... Sigh

Personally, no.
Deliberate scamming just doesn't cut it with me.

Sure, bend the truth a bit like all cold callers to get someone to agree to a contract (as long as the recipient is actually getting the service...) but scamming is just wrong.

yes i have done before, one of them russian scammers tried to get me to launder money for them so i just took the money :)

No, then you are a scammer, look at it in this way

If someone wanted to rob your store, would you rob his?
If someone wanted to kill your family, would you kill his?

I'd say NO.

Yeah, you could look it at it that way..

Or

Do you not do anything about it

and let him rob your house? If not yours? Someone elses?.. People don't learn unless they experience the consequences.

Meh..

I personally believe in karma, what goes around comes around.

But its frustrating finding these types of people running around trying to take advantage over some people.

Just walk away, if someone is robbing your house, you have a right to defend yourself, but attempting to scam a scammer, is basically you are not Defending, you are Attacking hard, why not just walk a way, continue life and never worry about it again ;)?

There is a fine line between scamming and taking advantage of a certain situation. For example:

A scammer offers to JV with you, and everything starts off on a good note, and you get paid, and send the scammer his share. Next month, scammer says he needs ALL the money earned that month to ramp up earnings, but really is just planning to scam you. I would say it isn't wrong to keep the money from that month and cut all ties with the scammer. But you have to KNOW he is a scammer.

There can be no room for doubt when you are playing with fine lines here.

To just outright be like "Hey man front me a $20 and I will send you $200 next month" is a no go in my books.

Karma is a bitch! Thats all i'll say!

QFT.

I'd scam him in a heartbeat and even did it before.
I fucking HATE scammers.

I'll never scam a legitimate buyer, I firmly believe in a quality service, but when it comes to scammers the worst in me comes out. Similar as when I see the cops.

Fair enough.

Although it may not always have to be between a buyer or seller. Like as KickFlip mentioned above.. There are different situations I've been put in, especially because we are dealing with people through the internet.

Generally, I'd walk away. But, you cannot sell an honest man an illegal chance to make a prize.

Remember, the Hustle team never targeted the honourable.

And there is saying "revenge is best served cold". It's true, remember the offence but do not hold a grudge and one day you will have the chance to return the compliment.

Depends on how much money is involved. If it was only a hundred bucks or something then I'd scam him back but if thousands were involved then I'd try to put him in a trap to get him legally arrested.

A short, simple answer = NO

WHY ?

not because i'm a saint , but think a little bit :

This world is full of evil, why you want to make it worse ?

Be nice, show to that scammer that you had the opportunity to scamm him, but u didn't.
And maybe we can live a life in a better way :)

Yes, IF the time I'm going to spend trying to achieve this goal isn't gonna cost me more that the losses deriving from it.

It's all about time management and having a good balance. Sometimes it's just wiser to chalk up a loss than blindly trying to feed your ego. Again, it's all about balance and not just in IM for me.
