Hello everyone :)

I was thinking if there was a simple software where you put your website(s), keyword(s) you are tracking and it'll automatically notify you whenever you have a change in one of your webpage(s) ranking for the specific keyword.

So I thought, why not to do one, and share it here for free

I'm thinking about something very simple, that automatically starts on windows startup, and it'll like show the notification on the right down side of your windows (the toolbar).

So, what do you think? Should I make it? Any suggestions..?

I think that's a great idea. However! i'm already subscribed to a similar service. It lets me know about my site and if the PR has changed, it also tells me if my site is slower than usual. It doesn't tell me about ranking for keywords so i think that is a great idea. But wouldn't it be better to make it webbased?

Thanks for your reply man.

And yes, I can also make it a web-based one, so it notifies you via email as well :)

Thanks for the comment guys, waiting for more ones;)

It seems not too hard to build.

I imagine this :
In an INI file you put your keywords, URLs and position like :
Code:
keyword one=http://www.domain.com/page-one.html=0
keyword two=http://www.domain.com/page-two.html=0

Then, at Windows startup and each hour (...) the software will scrape results of each page of Google results for your keywords and log the actual position of your URL.
Finally, if new position is different from previous position, then you'll receive a message (message box, tooltip, ...) about evolution of your ranking.

The management of INI files seems easy.
The management of scheduling seems not easy, but not hard.
The scraping process is easy.
The comparison process seems easy.

If I was not too busy, I would give a try...

That would be great. I'm always checking for that. You never know when it's google payday.

Would definetely save a lot of time.

Cool. That would be great. Something like automatic forcing of TT.

Any more thoughts guys? Do u want me to build it?

I got a plugin I use called rank tracker. I plugged in my main KW and it picks up all the long tails that include the main phrase. It tells me when I have any new phrases hit the first page. It also lets me know when any phrases change positions and what it was previously at and what it is currently at. Sends me email updates. It's okay, I'm sure something better can be made.

Cheers,

Hmm.. still waiting for more opinions

Hmm, so I think I'm not going for it :P

Hi Wiz, I use serpalertpro which does excatly what you said. The problem is it takes forever to scrape.

A good alternative would be a brilliant idea.
