I chose maybe because it really does depend on the person. Friends that really know me know that I date who I date based on who they are more than anything else. I think that you can change just about anything about your physical looks, can always get a better job, can always give up habits [after time], and basically can do just about anything different with yourself but changing your personality. That is the hardest [if even possible] to change imo and would not want to be with someone with a poor one. I have always dated women that have a heart of gold essentially. Apparently some are not the best looking, but to me they look great just because of what is on the inside.
Now the reason i say it depends on the person is because I have been where you are but on a grander scale with my current girlfriend. She's 4 years younger than me so is still trying to be a social butterfly touching other flowers. =P And while in the beginning of our relationship I was not fully aware of the situation, when we moved in together it kind of made things harder on her to hide because I'm just too observant to 'miss' even the little things. So for about a month or two she was actually dating me but talking to another chick. This messed with my head major because truly she loved/s me but still has a flame for this other chick [who is her ex] that she just was not going to put out. And on top of that she still had other exes she was still talking to, new potentials she was talking to, and was showing no signs of changing. So ultimately what I did was threw in the towel and said 'hey if ya don't want to be with just me, then we just cannot be.' Took her about two days or less to do some soul searching and she decided that she did not want to lose me. She has since changed most of her ways. It is still a battle and still I have to point out where she's falling short, but she has shown a genuine change, and a genuine desire to want to continue that change. Like I have all the means necessary to see if/when/who she talks to online and off so I can say with 100% certainty that she is attempting to change her ways and has been doing very well with it.
I have found that women in their early 20s are still searching, but once they start to hit mid twenties onward, they begin to know what they really want. And this is where I was a couple of years ago and where my g/f is now. It's just a woman thing I think. So I think a woman can change her ways especially when she knows it is for the better.
