Would you be using Blog Networks now?

Absolutely but on my tier 1. The PR's of these babies will soar high and most of their link juices will go my money site. The risk will be lesser too since I will be designing my tier 1 very carefully.

They still work, just use networks that are not as popular as BMR and ALN.

Really? the day private networks start selling their network on webmaster forums and openly advertise their domain sure as fuck that network will be brought down sooner or later

Unless if the network owner decided to sell but not advertise the actual domain.

I guess this is what is happening nowadays

1.A network starts as a private network..
2.He wants to expand so he starts advertising on forums
3.He would give the option of adding your own blogs or a paid membership
4.He will give the facility of posting on hundreds of blogs,or posting garbage spinned content or something similar
5.No matter if its free or paid,the network would become big eventually
6.Since the network has become big,popular and powerful...crappy content guys will come with their spinned garbage content
7.The network and all its sites will become garbage
8.People would remove their blogs because of content issues or Google will deindex them for obvious reasons
9.The network will be become useless or will close down itself
10.Time to think...whats next???

The number of sites you will have totally depends on how much you can handle. I think 5 is the minimum and the maximum depends on the previous sentence. By "handling" I mean putting some time in making the sites look good or totally different from each other (which enables you to pass a manual review).

I guess till now everybody(or atleast me ) was thinking Tier 2 as all the backlinks which a site has

Just my 2 cents here, but Google is aggressively rooting out people who are link building for ranking. They have specifically said that participating in link schemes will earn you a penalty. This is not ambiguous.

Tf you participate in linking schemes, you can kill your sites.

Sending links to tier 2 and 3 links IS a linking scheme.

When the Blog networks started, everyone jumped on board, Google took notice, pulled out the gut hook, and eviscerated thousands of sites.

What are you going to do if they do the same to people with unnatural tier 2 or 3 links?

I know that no one is concerned about this and I have even been told I am talking out of my ass on this very forum for expressing this opinion.

Google is a business, and they don't like it when people scam their customers.

Google has said they are GOING to, not trying to, level the field for websites that do not know SEO, penalizing those who over optimize their site.

In my OPINION, any kind of blog network, link pyramids, and tier 2 -3 level linking campaigns will eventually get you penalized, when Google takes care of the blatant offenders and gets around to mopping up. All google has to do is look at the number of upstream links pointing to your site that have link juice being poured in by spamy sites. (No one is building quality into these links, they are spamming.) When your site has enough of these types of links pointing to your site to be a statistical anomaly, it stands out. It is a very simple algo change to flag these sites for manual review.

Do you seriously think that Google just hasn't thought of it yet , or does not know it is going on, or does not know that the SERPs are being affected??

This is my opinion because these types of links are not natural, and normal, and Google has said that they re going to root them out.

I may be completely wrong here, but where can Google take action to stop link juicing if not at the upstream linking diversity?

They have slapped everyone who has done linking directly to their site, and it was not enough in their eyes. So how will they level out the playing field?

In my opinion, by devaluing upstream links, and devaluing the power of EMD (which has already been started).

I am not sabotaging any of my sites that make me money, and in my OPINION, these linking schemes are soon to be targeted.

I remember people saying that Google could never de-index all the article directories, then the same was said of blog networks. The are all gone or ghosts of their former self.

Google can and will do anything it wants as far as protecting their product, and when any kind of link building starts affecting the SERPS they have historically devalued these links. Flooding tier 2 and 3 links IS affecting the SERPS, as anyone will vouch for.

It may not be long before those "unnatural link building" messages have nothing to do with a link that actually points to your site. NO matter the form, building a link scheme of any kind is a placing a land mine for your site to run over in the future.

Has anyone gotten this notice on a site they were careful not to link directly to? One that absolutely makes no sense?

I've seen that question answered with numbers as high as 250, but I'm aiming for a more manageable and affordable 100 or so, and think that should give some good results. I'm at about 60 now.

It's a two-way street, my friend. You can kill your sites but you can also earn money/gain rankings.

They did. However, not all sites were hit. Actually, only 1% (just an estimate) of all sites that did blackhat in anyway got hit.

Not all blackhatters are scamming anyone. Actually, a good portion of the webmasters here are delivering awesome content and helpful features to the people. They are simply helping people find them.

Not so. Only those who are found out/look at manually. There are simply too many sites to penalize and they can't afford to put something in the algo's that will hit all of them including those whose links are just planted by competitors.

I don't know about EVERYONE but I only know about a few sites (in the context of all sites who are doing BH tactics).

You'd have to be retarded to point a blog network similar to BMR or ALN directly at your money site if it wasn't incredibly well built. Extremely private networks without spun content and high PR should be fine. But, I don't consider those to really be networks, more like privately owned sites.

ADWORDS. sooner or later Google will kill every shit type of SEO so that we would have no other thing to use except ADWORDS.

I use them every day to my money site, no ranking problems at all.

Everyone getting their knickers in a twist about these blog networks, yea for sure ALN, BMR and HPRS got hit bad, but folks they are not the only networks out there, and please have a little think about what those networks have in common: they are owner owned networks, what i mean here is all the blogs in the network are owned by the network and bought specificly with high pr for posting crap to in order to get links

On the other hand you have user contributed networks, the ones were people are adding their own blogs to the network in order to acquire tokens to post to the rest of the network, think about this how can networks like this actually totally be shut down? Now use your head here please: these networks are being added to all the time by fresh webmasters looking for more tokens etc so that's brand new user owned blogs being added ALL the time, google ain't that smart trust me!

Diversity is the key its been said here a million times before and these links will always be effective as part of a diverse SEO strategy, I laugh at all these fools that only used BMR to rank their sites, 100s of SEO companies all falling because they relied totally on BMR, ALN or HPRS for their clients sites (all of which have been hit hard now) they never would have had this problem if they'd played the game right!

This is the way i see it and tbh it's just common sense....

Unlikely. If that happens, search results would purely depend on PageRank which should not be trusted in the context of authority domains.
