would we ever go to mars?

like @medialounge said, we don't know a lot of thing that the military or rich know. May be MARS is a great place to live but we are masked.
Are you suggesting there's a conspiracy by the wealthy and the military hiding the fact that Mars has a breathable atmosphere and we could be up there playing tennis as we speak?

Trust me that is what I think. There must have many things we don't know. Riches are making bunkers you might have heard about it as well.

I believe him… but only if he’s sending Twitter’s customer support there first.

We can literally look at Mars with a super good telescope. Do you really think all Astrophysicists are somehow bribed to keep their mouth shut? You don't need to get close to a planet to realize it's not habitable, there is dozens of methods to check the atmosphere of nearby planets. I'm a bit of a conspiracy theorist myself but that's a bit far-fetched.

Short answer is we very likely will. Within our lifetimes? Assuming you only live to be 100, I don't think so. We'll probably have a couple of more missions which could lay the groundwork in the next 50 or so years but properly manned missions? Doubt it, what with all the current goings-on at planet Earth. Also personally, I don't think Musk would be the one to get humanity there in an administrative sense.

do you believe elon musk when he says he will put people on mars by 2050? coz me I don't really think so
I think a better question to ask would be, do we need to go to Mars?

As they say, necessity is the mother of invention. IMHO we would do it if it ever becomes important to go to Mars.

It doesn’t even have to be a do or die situation. Think about it. If you found a way to mine rare earth elements on Mars and this was cheaper than mining on earth, wouldn’t you do it, given you could? ;)

Ever? - sure lol. Don't think we getting there before 2050 by musk tho. AFAIK There are currently no manned missions planned to mars by national space agencies so very little chance we go to mars unless moon economy explodes in next decade and that just makes everyone wanna mine mars :p

There are still places where people don't have food to eat rather we are investing billions to plant tree on MARS. This is ridiculous to me.
in 2021 the UN wanted to make food a human right but 2 nations rejected that act USA and Israel ...

I don't understand the pasion of elon musk to go to mars. I believe is interesting but elon also said that the world population will colapse so why we need to go to mars if the population will get reduced? Will be enough land even now is enough for everyone....... The cost to get to mars will be higher than going and buying a mountain of your and you have all what is required here compared to mars :))

We will go to mars, for now buy tesla - best sales pitch ever.

As soon as there is a need for it, they will immediately colonize Mars. There must be some kind of lever for action

One thing you should know about Mars is no human rocket is able to achieve escape speed launching from Mars

So once you land there, it's irreversible. There is no escaping Mars.

I don't think humanity should be so greedy. I want to ask, "Why all this greed?"

What are we doing on Mars when we haven't even fully explored Earth yet? Sometimes I'll believe that greed is the only thing that will bring about humanity's end.
