Hi,

I've been lurking around here for quite a while now and thought it would finally be time to take some action.

I already got my domain and hosting ready, now it's time for some content.
My question now is.. would a website based on a specific food work?
For example: Pages full of pancake recipes.

You could make a blog all about pancakes, theres nothing wrong with that. It's a nice small start to get you started.

If you can find material to write at least 100 posts about pancakes then yes this will likely work.

I could actually see this working out. A "1000 Ways To Make A Pancake" website where you could create different shapes, sizes, styles, and colours of pancakes. You could even get creative and do something like use a bunch of pancakes to make a model city of pancakes (similar to what this guy did). You could promote your website through Pinterest (I know the mothers there who follow food-related boards would probably enjoy that website) and gain traffic to your blog.

What's best in this idea is once you have the articles up, you can take advantage of social media. Lots of people like food blogs specially sweets-related stuff.

For starters its a good idea. But you should go for something much more interesting and less ventured. And you should be ready for at least 100 posts on the topic. Syndicate your blog posts with Facebook, Twitter, Instagram,Pinterest. you will start seeing results withing one month. By result I mean to say traffic. Not money.

In addition to everything, pancakes are a simpler recipe and they are easier to modify compared to buffalo wings.
