I am attempting to setup and get highly ranked a LOCAL information website. Here is the plan :

1 - site hosted on a subdomain
2 - wordpress blog
3 - wp-o-matic for content from a local news rss
4 - wp writeagain to randomize the content

Would google have a problem with that type of site?
Would it get ranked?

Thanks in advance for any assistance.

It will largely depend on the competition of the keyword. Most local keywords have less competition, so you might have a chance to get it ranked.

If you can give us a little more info about the keyword and competition strength, we could probably better answer your question! You don't have to tell us the keyword...just let us know the monthly searches for the keyword along with the strength of the competition.

Hey Guys -

Thanks for the feedback.

The specific phrase that makes up the domain is searched globally 720 times per month.
This phrase is BLANK in BLANK.
The two main words in the phase/domain without the word "in" are searched 9900 times per month.
I got this information from the google keyword search tool.

How do I find the competition strength?

Thanks again for your help with this.

Look at the sites ranking for the keyword, if you think you can beat them with your autoblog then go for it.

I checked the page rank of the top 2 sites under that keyword search.

The top site is a 3 and the second site is a 1.

The page rank of the sites is not what you need to be looking at. You need to look at the

1. Age
2. Backlinks
3. Keyword, on site.

There are reasons that the site is where it is. In Google's eyes, that site is special for that search term. You need to figure out why and then out do them, by copying them and doing more.

Unique content daily pertaining to the search. Backlinks from high pr sites, do - follow, and no - follow. Social bookmarks, directory submissions. Links from your other pages. Articles.

I know you can outrank them. Not you personally, but if someone sets out on the task and is determined and knows they can rank #1, they will.

Do you have what it takes?

I am putting up the site today and getting things setup.

If I auto redirect the page, will google still rank the page as it is before the redirect?

Ultimate Goal - I would like to develop a ranked page and then have that page redirect to a different page when a user lands on it?

Can that be done?
