Setup a website (shopify) to sell only a few items that are from Amazon. Buyer buys from my site, I buy/order from Amazon and they ship it directly to the buyer.

For example, if there is a mug with a great design on amazon for $10, but instead I sell that on my website for $20. I looked at designing it myself thru POD, but it would cost as much as $20+ already...it most likely be cheaper if i buy and hold inventory but why not just buy it directly from Amazon for $10?

What issues would there be?
  • Buyer sees Amazon's third party seller on the box once the product arrives? Should i have it ship to me first then i ship to buyer?
  • Buyer wants to return?
  • Buyer shops around first and finds it on Amazon and buys it there directly.
  • Anything else?

Thanks!

I use to do this, I'm in Asia so I buy products from lazada, and when the order comes, I buy it to my house, repackage it (because buyer would see the product comes from lazada which is not ok), and then ship to the buyer. It was lot of work and I could generate only 1 sale a day, so I quit.

What you described is called dropshipping. Read about it.

It would be better for you to order your ordered item to your own address and then you resend it to your buyer with your own labeling. Buyer don't go amazon sometimes because if he likes your product really then he don't invest his time on searching more about it. So the quality or product is very important if you want big customer to your product on your site. Thank you.

And this will make all the profits go away for postal services. There are no "big customers" in your website. You are not B2B selling in bulk.

Why not start a dropshipping store instead. You can contact seller and tell them you are dropshipping. So when a buyer purchases your item, you give the details to your supplier and they will ship it to the buyer. I think a plugin such as Oberlo makes this process easier.

Then would you send it directly to the customer from amazon then? The extra shipping cost if I sent it would eat up a lot of the profits.

Yes just send directly. If anyone will just say that u use fba for example and it is cheapier/easier to ship than from your own storage.

just find a better pod plaftform, 20 dollars for a mug is stupide
