Would this strategy cause me trouble?

Hello BHW, I have read many threads around here but I still have a newbie question before I mess up :)

Let's say that I have an idea for two or three websites, making clever use of the new .tips top domain - they will be blogs aimed at answering common questions related to their specific niches and monetized with ClickBank affiliations. I'm under the impression that tons of generic backlinks are a bad idea for fresh sites, so I will purchase smaller SEO packages (including social, likes/+1s etc) from BHW members instead.

Now... since those niches are constantly evolving (and very much active) I plan to add content every week, which means I'll want to purchase an increasing amount of "how to do X with Y" links to specific article pages and leave the homepages alone. Can anyone who has already tried this approach tell me if Google might sneeze at this, and whether having a linked/visited/shared main page is *required* in order to rank the subs well?

Thank you.
