So, I've been a member for a short while now. But there are things I still don't grasp.

Suppose I find out a technique that I know tons of webmasters want but don't know.

Would it be ethical/authorized to open a thread in BST(with mod approval) to sell the knowledge for a few bucks?

It's something that if released public will lose validity instantly, but that may be useful to members, so I thought of raising a few bucks, and screen the outing of it, by selling each one individually.

Would this be seen in a bad light?

BST is for services. There is no place to sell your method. Most of the people here share method freely. But anyway you can ask mod here, if your method is a super duper method he may approve it.
What ever book people releasing it will be circulated free of cost by some people all over IM forums. Obviously that method get killed or spammed to death for sure.
If you decided to sell(if mod's approve) or share it you can do it on jVIP section so there is less chance it will get saturated.
 
I've been lurking for the past year and only made an account recently, yet in that short time i have gathered that this is an actual community, where people are here to help each other.

IMO this is a special forum and we should not be charging each other for information. Services etc. are understandable.

If you want to sell information i suggest you make a WSO and go make your money over there. This is a forum for sharing and helping each other.

Why? What's wrong with selling methods? It's like any other service. If you don't get what you're paying for, you can ask for a refund and etc.

To OP: Better use the method/s by yourself and don't sell them. Why would you sell them if they works? I mean it's not impossible. I know what is to have a method that won't be saturated if shared with only few people. But the risk is that they will share it with someone else and this process will continue.
 
Here, if you search hard I've seen one eBook detailing a method. If you really want to gain a bit of money from it go and sell it on WF but otherwise if you value BHW, share it here and gain our respect.

I REALLY fucking hate the company that does this, and I know from searching around that LOTS of people need this. And I found a way around this company's fucking unethical behavior, but if I share it, it becomes invalid in 15 minutes like I said.

How to proceed?
 
Plenty of methods are being sold in closed/private sections of forums. If you share a brand new killer method in a public forum, how long do you think it will last.
 
Hmm... Every invention was ridiculed, and every genius was stoned -- in the beginning! Don't be discouraged by the negativity, it's there to make you a billionaire soon :). Heard of Bill (Gates)? Yeah, go ahead and share it free. Bill earned billions and then shared, you be different!
 
Despite what previous replies have said, it is absolutely permissible to sell ebooks/methods in the BHW BST. You don't see much of those types of offers here, but they're still allowed and the approval process is the same as it is for services.

Feel free to submit it for staff review.

Well you could upgrade to being a Jr VIP and then share it. I don't know how it works but I'm pretty sure, REALLY good threads can be moved to the private Jr Exec VIP and Exec VIP forums if thought to be worthy enough.

Well it's not a money making method! I've used it for myself for a while now, and it's a technique to get around something truly unethical done by a company which IMO should be bankrupt.

I'll find a proper way to share it.

Selling is a good option and as others said, Bill Gates first sold, then shared. You can't help others while drowning so first grow up and then help. That's my view on this.
 
Yeah! Sell it man. Have abundance if you can. I guess, you have that thing in you that makes some people celebrities! Honest.
 
Yes, I guess it's allowed but the sales it makes depends on the quality :)

Thanks! Appreciate the honest feedback here. Will think about how to do this, I just don't want to ruin it for others for the benefit of this particular company, as I think it'll be useful for lots of folks.
