I'm a college student who took his summer off full time (8-5p) work as this is the last summer before I go live and get a big-boy job in the city (business major).

I have been stumbling upon a lot of money-making methods, but cannot choose which to get myself into that creates a good income.

Last night, I was stumbling upon some referral programs through prepaid cards. Something like if you get a person to sign up, you make $40... stuff like that. This interested me because I was on Instagram seeing all these stupid posts about "get rich quick, all you need is $xx to turn it into $10000000!!" Stupid posts like that.... just to get people's attention.

So basically what I am asking is after doing some research into a particular affiliate program (I don't know if I am posting this in the right section, but the affiliate forum is dead w/ no viewers), It is like $x0 to sign up, then a monthly fee of $XX.99 to continue this service.. The thing is, if you refer ONE person, you make like $40 just like that.. them signing up. Say I get 10 friends together who all have the money to sign up. If I get those 10 friends to sign up, they purchase it, pay their fee of the one month of usage, and then CANCEL their card (it is in the ToC that they need to stay active for one month), wouldn't that just be a quick way to make $400 (subtract the starting cost up?)

Total cost to do: $30 + $19.99 = 49.99---- Cancellation fee of $1 = $50.99. One referral = $40 made.... get 2 and you've already made a $29.99 profit...

As long as the person does not forget to cancel their card, do you think this would be a good money-making method? Say I get the boot because the company isn't happy with the way that they are losing money off of me being their affiliate... Well worst comes worst I get kicked off their program... there are 1000's of other referral programs like this, and I just move to the next one....

Those friends would then get 10 of their friends, or however many they want... or just cancel it and only get like 2 friends to do it.... I think I could easily get those 10 friends to sign up, and those friends would easily get more people to sign up.

What do you think?

they will see that all your referrals are cancelling, and you will get banned without getting paid

My referrals would be canceling after a few months. So if they don't do anything & cancel after their first payment on top of their startup fee, then that would be a month after I have already gotten paid. There is no way the company can take money which I receive after the customer I refer them to and they receive $30 could possibly take that money back... but like mentioned, if they do ban me, I will just move on to the next referral program.

it all depends on how frequently they pay, they can't be that dumb

They wont get the money back if they would cancel after a few months. Why would they let them do it? Doesnt make sense

Doubt it will work. They've probably thought of that eventuality.

maybe you should find a way to earn money without scamming anyone...

you wrote that you have been stumbling upon a lot of money-making methods, how about

trying those first... i doubt what you are saying will ever work... and it doesn't even seem to be worth it

when you can make much more than 400$ with the methods shared here...

I don't think it will work. There will be some small print that blocks payment in some way. This just sounds too easy. No company could leave itself that exposed.

You say there are plenty of opportunities like this out there. Trust me, if there were, lots of people would have been all over it by now, and any loop-holes would have been closed.

But give it a go if you are confident. What's the worst that can happen? You lose a little bit of money. You are setting out to scam the company. If they turn the scam on you, then all's fair, I say.
