Would one prioritize DR over RDs when comparing site strength on Ahrefs ?

Hey BHW,

Yes I know, this might be a noob question however would you prioritize DR over RDs when comparing site strength on Ahrefs.

Background:

The reason why I am asking is that I am purchasing PBNs currently and often times I am questioning WHICH site is more worth it.

Example:

1. Site A: Ahrefs Rank: 14,774,843 DR: 13 RDs: 7
2. Site B: Ahrefs Rank: 28,237,714 DR: 6 RDs: 132

You check the links yourself and see which site has a better link profile.
 
I think getting high RD domains will automatically increase site DR, but it depends on site quality too while building new link profile.
 
Okay, let's say I go and start going through the top 10 links in Site As backlink Profile. How would I be able to quantify the strength? Would I add the top 10 sites RD's AND DR's.....
 
Are any of those possible 7 referring domains likely to drop soon, you better check that, it might be one link in that that makes or breaks wether the site is viable long term.
At least with the one with many referring domains, a few drop off and you wouldn't even notice.
 
132 rd vs 6 rd ? Really?

If it is not 132 spam links, of course

And considering DR is still not a golden standard for seo metrids
 
RDs any day. Look for
1. Contextual links
2. Non -spam ones
3. Hard to create links

I feel like I agree with this logical process.... Seems like always go for the higher RD since it is less likely to completely go to trash correct gentlemen?

I also agree with RD based approach. I also check whether the link point more to homepage or not.

One thing i haven't tried is to use an expired domain that already have some traffic to it. So do a lot of experiments and report back. :)
 
RD over DR. Check especially if they are majority contextual links.
Within contextual links, look if it has niche relevant or brand name anchor texts to pass link juice.
 
I will check for better RDs, as I see both options have low RD, so you can manually check and pick the better one.
 
Without any doubt, you have to choose the domain based on RD. But make sure of the minimum quality of links.
 
DR should be considered more, RDs can be anything from any source of links. like, RDs could have 100+ poor quality links and few high quality links, so that shouldnt be a matter I think.
