Would Clickbank freak out and ban me if I get a large number of conversions in a single day like a 1000 ($10 each)?

They wouldn't ban you if the conversions are legitimate, but if it's a new account with little history of doing those numbers in the past then it would probably be flagged for extra fraud checking. $10K in a day is way above what your typical CB affiliate can produce.

Yeah, those kinds of conversions are usually reserved for the backend of guys doing launches.

Is it a good idea to let them know beforehand?

Personally I wouldn't use clickbank. Make a good ebook and sell it on your site. As soon as I stopped using clickbank my conversions went through the roof, I can't say for sure but I have a feeling they scrape.

Anyway if you are dead set on using clickbank then I unless you are doing something questionable your will pass the fraud check.

The ebook is not mine and it's on clickbank, but I might be able to discuss it with the vendor. What other CPA network do you suggest?
I knew they scrape, their analytics are not consistent with my server logs, but as long as I'm making money I'm ok with them for now.
    I don't take it personally.

lol, I wish. It takes a certain amount of work (9-12 days) to allow it to happen, anyway, I would probably be able to do it once a month or something since I'm working on other things as well.

Assuming that you're semi-legit, you're sure you will do a big volume, and you haven't sent this kind of volume before, I would contact them proactively first. Maybe under the guise of saying something like, "I'm going to be doing a large {launch|new campaign} on $date and I wanted to make sure there will be no problems processing my expected $XX,XXX revenue or handling product fulfillment for this many new customers" or some shit like that.

It's what a professional would do and it gives you a chance to get in on the front foot and feed them some bullshit about where your traffic is coming from etc.

No way they will kick you out there are plenty of ways they can check, how about sharing how you can do such an amount and if it works on regular basis as you think it will is this with any product or just this one.

If it is just one do a rewrite update add a little and put landing page up on your site and sell direct.

If you are pretty sure that you gonna get that conversion just hire someone to create a similar product to the one you gonna promote , it won't cost too much and you keep all your money + maybe some affiliates gonna join you

You will definitely not get banned but they will hold some of those commissions if you are new with them for at least a pay cycle for sure (reserve for chargebacks and refunds)

You can technically get banned ... or at least frozen ... while they check into your traffic. Matt Bacak was investigated by CB purely based on volume about a year ago.
