If a new product was being released, say over on CB, and the sales page really hyped things up but didn't really come out and say what you the end-user would be doing in order to make all that money, much like they always tend to do, would it be unethical and/or impractical to write a review of said product which cuts to the chase and outlines pretty much everything the end-user would be required to do, thus taking the 'sizzle' out of the steak', or should I just continue going about writing my reviews much like everyone else does, which itself is just hiding "the real truth' in order to garnish sales/commissions?

Thoughts/Opinions are welcomed.

If the author found out you were doing that, he would likely cut you out of your commissions, and any other affiliates who are promoting it might make a "Wanted" poster with your face on it :D

But seriously . . . NO . . . NOT A GOOD IDEA.

I don't think it's a question of ethics.
If the product is rubbish, it would be ethical to say so.
If the product is good and it has some features which are hidden and prompt cusotmers to actually buy it, it would't be such a good idea to reveal them.

@wiz & gigibecali69:

Thanks for the replies...guess I'll continue w/writing my "reviews" like most everyone else does...except when I know a product is B/S, I'll let that be known in my review.

Appreciate the feedback provided by my fellow BH's!

I never buy a product if I don't know what its about.. but thats just me.
