Would a 55 DA expired domain be valuable without content?

Probably a stupid question but I haven't looked into it before - if a domain has a fantastic backlink profile, no spam, never expired until this moment, and is roughly 55 DA to Moz... could it be sold for anything decent? Or would it be better to try and use it myself for content?

It is all about the backlink profile, not the content. It has value without the content.

Yes it is valuable. Go to www.archive.org search it up. Look what content it used to have. You can download the whole html content and put it on your domain. It's important to set up the site exactly like it was (or at least the url strings, new content is no problem). This makes the backlinks to the website valid.
