Would a 301 work for a different niche?

Hi,

I have a domain in the tech niche, nothing special (yet).

Now, I have an opportunity to buy a powerful domain in the education niche, PR5, TF and DA above 40, with decent backlinks, for around $2k

What I want to know is, if I buy this education domain and 301 it to my tech domain, will it give the tech domain a push in the rankings and authority? Even though it's in a different niche?

Please, only people who have experience in this matter respond. Thanks.

it does, but 2K$ is really more to spend on a DA40 domain, i can scarpe better domain stats as low as 100$
 
I bet you can't. Find me a spam free domain with at least DA40 and TF40 for that sort of price, and I rate you.
 
Sorry forgot to mention, it's a .com.
 
If your willing to spend that kind of money I would get a niche related domain.

Tech niche is pretty popular, im sure you can find one.

Okay, and lets say I did go for the education niche domain and did a 301, would the big G see this as a game attempt, or would it pass legitimate juice?
 
I wouldnt 301 it. I have my own PBN, and have tested a ton of different theories including 301ing aged domains to boost rankings. If I were you Id put content on the aged domain and link it to your main site to build backlinks and boost rankings.
 
If you have bought it for $2k and are confident that it is a powerful site, why not post some content into it and link it directly to your money tech site? Think about it, OP.
 
Spending $2,000 on a domain and redirecting it is quite the gamble. For various reasons, the results will be inconsistent.

The question is about ROI. What will give you the best results for the $2,000:

a) Spend $2,000 on an Unrelated domain - Redirect it to the Money Site

or

b) Spend $2,000 on a network of Niche (Tech) related domains - Link them to the Money Site

I personally would choose option B.

You're not seriously telling me that placing a link on the authority domain will pass more link juice than a 301?

I'm not interested in building a PBN. Don't have the time nor inclination to research and buy lots of domains, build them, make content, using different hosts and IPs, and whatever else I need to cover my tracks.

So, a PBN is out of the question.

I just want a single powerful domain, which I can 301. So... how about option c) Spend money on a really powerful tech related domain?
