Just a fear monger. Anyone who says that doesn't understand the history of the great depression...or even what it was. Neither do they understand how the economic/capitalistic structure of the U.S. (along with the global political climate) prevents another such occurence.

Sad how Quickly you dismiss this ...

Gerald Celente is recognized by the MAJOR MEDIA as the truth in trends.

Fact Celente is right every damn time.

Well no one would listen when Gerald Celente warned of the 2008 melt down, guess you would have called Celente fear monger..You've got to be blind not to see the state of things...

Mr. Celente is called upon by businesses, governments and associations to deliver keynote addresses and seminar presentations worldwide.

On the geopolitical and economic fronts, Celente and The Trends Research Institute are credited with forecasting many major trends, including the collapse of the Soviet Union, the last two recessions, the dot-com meltdown, the 1997 Asian currency crisis, the 1987 world stock market crash, increased terrorism against America, "Crusades 2000," and the quagmire in Iraq ... before war began.
Gerald Celente has also accurately forecast many real estate trends, including the big move to vacation spots and small towns, the growth in the second home market, a real estate "fizz" in 2005 ... plus hundreds of other social, business, fashion, consumer and entertainment trends.

I read that they're now saying it's going to be January of 2009 and the entire economy is going to collapse. Sure, some of it is fear mongering, but we are in bad times thanks to the federal reserve printing money out of thin air. I wish they'd bring back currency backed by gold or silver (you know - lawful money).

But, honestly, in today's economy I don't know if that'd ever be possible because there are now so many people, based on a percentage of gold's value the dollar would equate to like .00000000000374 trillions of 1 percent or something.

A good video about the subject, although it is kind of boring, is The Money Masters available on google video.

I have started stocking up on canned goods and food. If people in major cities run out of food or can't buy it... they'll riot the stores first, and when that food runs out, mobs are going to try to storm homes to get food. People would do anything if they were starving.

I think we really are living in dangerous times. The only thing that keeps me somewhat sane, is that the world leaders do need us to create their own wealth... you know, the worker bees...

Although some, like Alex Jones, and others, have said there is a mass extermination plan to eliminate the world's population down to about 500,000. Something to do with the "georgia guidestones".

I'm not sure but having a few boxes of storable food isn't going to hurt.

I hope everything falls to shit. Something drastic needs to happen before the US can progress. There is too much money, greed, power, and influence uptop. We need a great leveling flood, in my opinion.

I hope not. There is alot of greed and power, but there are also those who are humble. I think this will happen as our economy is becoming worse. Time for Obama to make a change.

Just like the stock market, people become scared. There's no reason to be scared. Everything will be alright. Just prepare today for what's to come tommorrow.

I agree, need to get rid of all the crooks at the top. Obama is appointing the same ol crooks who have been in the Clinton administration, so much for change. I don't think they will turn things around but I hope they do.

I like to listen to glen beck on the radio, he has made a lot of similar predictions and he has been pretty accurate over the past year or two.

If the media and these so called 'experts' keep their mouths shut, then consumers wouldn't reduce spending.

I agree and it is my opinion that the markets are moving as a result of market manipulation by institutional traders. I made a living speculating on the market doing financial betting for about 5 years and the best way I can explain it is this. Retail investors ( Individuals ) make up a small percentage of the daily volume of the markets. So these large swings can only happen when large companies are moving money around. Look how oil has came down all of a sudden. This is really sad because I can remember GW saying that speculators are running the price up on oil and I will bet you dollars to dimes that he knew this to be the case because his friends were the ones doing this. When the situation became apparent that obama would win many big guys have been moving their positions around. Oil came down because they are cashing out before they get called on their positions. inflation is still on an uptrend and you can tell because Gold is a hedge and the price drop does not nearly correlate at all between oil and Gold. So big guys are holding their positions their and infact probably moving their money out of the markets and out of oil into the tried and true hedge against the Dollar.

I can't stand to even listen to CNBC anymore not sure if they are just clueless or simply don't care. People need to know the truth because it will take a lot of great minds to start fixing this. Markets don't make historical swings because 10 of thousands of small retail investors decide at the same time on the same day to sell. It is an amazing lie and I just don't know what is happening in this country today. I feel good about the incoming administration yes there are some old faces and yes they understand the importance of Paygo policy and a strong dollar. Are we headed for tough times you don't got to be a genious to see that. I was saying buy gold in my old newsletter at $240 years ago. Just follow the money and if you want to make money now dip in and buy with 20% of your funds every 6 months while the situation peaks and resolves itself. That is why large guys are getting out of the markets " Cash is king or Gold in this case ". They will buy back in gradually and end up richer still.

Well he has been right for the past couple of decades. It's not a coincidence that this guy knows what he's talking about.

It's basically up to us to make that change, but as the majority looks at this as a downturn, that's how it's going to be. It's a self fulfilled prophecy.

    Ok....so now he's nostradamus?
I agree things are looking pretty grim, I'm just saying this discussion of how bad the world is gonna be and all this doom and gloom is helping no one, we need to focus on fixing it rather than how Bad it's gonna be, like a bunch of cry babies.
