What you need first is a computer with a keyboard and mouse, and an internet connection.

unfortunately this approach is time intensive. i have 20 or so blogs each with more than a thousand posts/entries

It's all in your wp database: title, permalink structure etc.

Yep, and as you have 20 blogs, I guess manually entering phpmyadmin (or similar) to get them all from the databases will be even faster than scripting something to automate this. Less than half an hour and you're done ;)

(but to do so you will still need a computer with a keyboard and mouse, and an internet connection. :D )

Glad I could help and make you laugh.
