I created many sites and some websites have been ranked at the top through seo work and some have not. I know it is SEO and it has some uncertainty. The problem I am facing is that the sites which are brand new and not ranked initially. I start working on backlinks when the websites get some queries and impression / position naturally in GSC without any backlinks. In my opinion, this is the right time to start link building because I believe it means that the search engine evaluated my website is worthy of something. When my website does not generate any keywords and/or make any impression in GSC naturally, I try my best to fix / add contents so that the website does that. However, I am totally lost when it doesn't work and the GSC doesn't show any keywords.
There is a website I am working on right now, it is indexed by google but doesn't have any naturally generated keywords. The website shows up when I search domain.com in google, but it doesn't show up when I search domain .com or domain com. It means the website is very weak. I can't start building backlinks if it is the case.
Some would say "oh, why don't you start link building so it will rank better with your intended keywords as anchor text?" However, in my thoughts, when the website doesn't show up it will take so much more hard work because the search engine evaluated our site has low value. But I started working on link building anyway, adding some manually created backlinks using my intended keywords as anchor text. I created a variety of backlinks: Web 2.0s, parasites, profiles etc. Still, after working on link building for about a month, no change in SEO tools and GSC queries.
How do you work on websites like this? I would like your opinion on the matter.
