Hello everyone, Elka here.
4 years ago I had discovered that there is a possibility to make money online. During 4 years I had made no commitments to digital marketing, besides creating a couple of websites with WordPress, one of the websites is for my offline business. But still, in my subconscious, this idea of making money online is something special for me.
One week ago, I got an opportunity to have an interview with an E-commerce company, which is selling vouchers, activities, basically gift cards. It makes around 10 million Euros in revenue, so it's quite a big company. The whole week I have been researching step's how to do SEO, some practical strategies for a different part of SEO. The interview went 50/50 because they still considering either bringing a newbie like me or someone who is already a SEO expert. They are looking for help during Christmas sales. After the interview, I got mixed feelings about it and got confused.
Right now, I have a job, where I have to go to work every 4 days, where I make around 700 euros. There is a gap of 3 no working days. Offline business is seasonal, where I have plenty of work from April till September. I also make around 1.5k euros each month during the season. During winter, it's a dead business.
The average salary in my country is around 900 - 1k a month.
To learn digital marketing in the company seems to have huge potential for me ( or maybe just an illusion ), but on the other hand, it doesn't seem practical to give up 2,2k euros a month revenue, where I can practically learn anything on the side.
My dilemma is, If I should take the job ( if they offer me one ) to go all in this field, the salary would be around 1,3k a month. But, I have to give up my offline business 100%, and maybe keep my normal job. Or, should I keep my same job, keep and grow an offline business, and also start learning SEO by building websites and ranking them. Either way, can't make a decision.
Does anyone have gone a similar route and found success? What would you do?
Every answer is welcome because I need an unbiased decision on what makes sense and whatnot.
