yes I am also working at home but now a days every place have free wifi so you can go through these place and do your work there.
I don't know where are you from but try to find in your region something like "Coworking" or "office sharing". You can decrease your spending even ten times. If something like that doesn't exist in nearest location.. maybe you should create your own shared office. Just rent available office and split cost with friends or completely unknown person (just find them via local group on fb, forum etc.) In this way you can even have a your own office financed by them

Great thread, I have worked from home 6 years now building a career in the professional services/consulting sector.
It's all in how you handle it. Get your mindset right...I'll call a high level exec from home in boxers & a headset, possibly even beer in hand. It's all in the effort you make.

it all depends with the type of business you are engaged in and the target market. you dont have to rent a spacious office for you to look very professional. the skill we offer are the ones that market us not the office. if you see a client minding very much about an office, then they are outdated and that only means they will be nuisance in the whole deal. those old people who never trust no one. If it is a must you schedule a meeting, you can go to a hotel if they are not comfortable meeting you at home. thanks

If your a one man show or a small business with some freelancers or partnered with other work from home guys, there is no need for an office for represantitive reasons.
Surely there are enough renting opportunities if you need a well equipped conference / presentation room, at a time.
Just save that money when your starting your business, nobody cares about that at that business level.
However, when working from home distraction by family, tv, friends, games is always close if you do not set yourself a plan / timetable.
Once you reach the status to employ additional staff, thats the time to rent a nice office and seperate business from private visually.

it will only depend with the service that you are offering and your background history in that business. you dont expect that anyone will trust a very new person without a reputation and a physical office. you must have to established your self first then the rest will follow. you will find that you dont really need the office. To me it is not unprofessional as long as you both are comfortable with it. Many people are doing it from home, just dont fear anything friend. all the best

I forced myself to work from home for the last 3 months. It was fun in the beginning, was over productive, could work with just my shorts on, grab what I want from the kitchen and shit, but eventually laziness and procrastination took over. And the porn, oh my god, how much porn does a guy watch? I'm on an office hunt again.

Well, no. What clients care about is what you can offer them. If you're concerned about a meeting place, meet him at his favorite resto-bar, or to his nearby coffee shop.
If you do get questions like "Why do you work at home?" , just tell them that you find the workflow of not having an office more productive and that it helps discipline you and your "employees/co-workers" towards achieving goals - and then change the topic to the business at hand. Because whether or not having an office is not the main point of a business - it's what value you can offer them. If it's a glaring issue, then use it to leverage your business into something that has more value compared to others.

It cut down the over expense (EB, wifi, Rent and so on..) I guess Until we give good service and proper deadline reports to clients he wont ask about our workplace

I agree entirely. I'm surprised nobody else has looked at this massively positive side to working at home. I work when I'm productive, not when office hours happen to be.
