What should be the workflow (step-by-step guide) to optimize the AI-generated article? What tools do you use?

I let AI write the draft, then I fact-check, add my own examples, run it through Grammarly + an SEO tool (Surfer/NeuronWriter), and finally manually tweak headings/structure for readability

That is pretty simple but effective.

1) Use a decent model rather than trying no-cost / low-cost. AI has become so cheap there is no reason not to use i.e. gpt-5.1, flux, wan-video.
2) Invest time into and optimize your AI prompts.
3) Accept the fact that AI (search engines) prefers AI - not pseudo-human content.

A good workflow is to create the AI draft, verify the facts, improve the weak sections, add your own points, and polish the headings and keywords. Then check it with grammar, plagiarism, and SEO tools before publishing and adding internal links.Tools you can use: Grammarly, QuillBot, SurferSEO and Google Search Console.

Refine the structure and readability by organizing headings and paragraphs.
Then, use SEO tools (like SurferSEO or Clearscope) to adjust keywords and improve search relevance.
Finally, fact-check, polish tone and grammar with tools like Grammarly, and perform a final SEO audit before publishing.

Make sure you have a topic, hook, angle and tone of voice set and made clearly prompted for the AI (that's what I do) and after I simply let it generate on a good model, for me it works well.

I use half a dozen tools and most of the time my workflow is different depending on the topic intent and monetization statergy.

Could you please mention the names of the tools you use most often?

Everyone have his own secrets, but I believe that the best suggestion is to give more information possible to the tool, not say just "write me an article that.."

use ai article to make a mind map. Verify mind map with wikipedia manually. Write article fresh from mind map. Kaboom. Quality article that google will love in your own words, and all the fundamental reference points to expand or reinterpret the article, or do more.

As you have a digital learning asset that can expand along with your understanding and intelligence on the subject.

That's an impressive combination of tools. Thank you.

list your requirements like theme, writing style, application scenarios (newspaper publication, school composition, advertising and so on), and then let GhatGPT generate a draft.

Read the AI article, fix errors, improve structure with headings and short paragraphs, add examples or images, use keywords naturally check readability.

To optimize an AI-generated article, review the content, perform keyword research, implement SEO practices, check for plagiarism and grammar, add internal/external links, enhance with visuals, encourage user engagement, publish, promote, and monitor performance.

After refining the text, focus on clarity, flow and naturally weaving in relevant keywords visuals examples make it more engaging and shareable.

I treat AI generated drafts like a first sketch. I go through them carefully, fixing awkward phrasing, improving the structure with clear headings, and breaking up long paragraphs. Then I add examples, visuals or links to make the content more engaging and relatable.

Start with a clear outline → generate content → fact-check & refine → enhance readability (grammar, flow) → add SEO keywords → optimize headings & meta → final proofread. Tools: Grammarly, Hemingway, SurferSEO, ChatGPT for edits.
