Why is it that so many people quit IM before they even start?

Why do so many people stop before seeing results?

Because they burn themselves out, that's why.

For example: Instead of trying to do an article a day, or a few a day, do 4-5 a week instead.

You need breaks, and having rest days in your week will help you enjoy your life and keep you going for the long run.

So instead of working all day, everyday on your business, do a couple of hours only. The rest of the time you can research, learn, invest in YOURSELF.

IM is a grind, a marathon, NOT a sprint. There's no point trying to sprint your way to riches because you'll give up soon enough from not seeing results.

I work a few hours a day on my business and that's it. IF I have extra time, I'll read about blogging and Internet Marketing in general, anything to increase my knowledge in what I'm doing.

As Tai Lopez says, the more you learn the more you earn.

    Good luck!

I agree with you but to work smarter one has to master a skill and to master that skill you need to work hard, then comes the part as to how smart one works.

Thanks OP I'll drop the extra work hours and spend my free time reading about blogging from now on.

Because just reading about shit and staying chill will certainly produce money and results.

Or I'll choose to get shit done instead and save that extra money so I can invest it when the opportunity comes.

You're mentioning Tai Lopez, but do you see how much content he's ACTUALLY putting out, apart from doing other shit obviously? Dude made his work part of his lifestyle. Don't mistake that for what you're doing - you way isn't sustainable and your competition (IMers who work smart AND put in a few times the hours you do) will eat you alive with time.

Edit: You also say you read about blogging IF you have "free time". There's no IFs when you want to accomplish something. You learn more WHILE working or you will certainly fail. You can go memorize Woodward's entire sitemap if you want to - it won't work unless you do.

Obviously there is a lot of variables in what I have said. Working hard definitely works. But what about newbies that are just starting out? Do you expect them to put in all their energy into something, NOT seeing results in the first week and then giving up?

And yes definitely, reading about shit is the better than playing video games and watching TV.

And are you that ignorant to think I was telling everyone to read about blogging? Read it properly, it says read and learn your FIELD.

"Don't mistake that for what you're doing - you way isn't sustainable and your competition (IMers who work smart AND put in a few times the hours you do) will eat you alive with time."

That's where you're wrong. You think IM is all about putting every second of your day into your business. That is far from the truth, because THAT way is not sustainable! My way is most definitely.

Of course you have to work hard. Being consistent and putting in the action IS working hard.

That's not what I think at all - and how cute of you to think your way is the best way. Isn't that what all teenagers say. And how ignorant (since everyone is throwing that word around lately).

Yours is one of many approaches. If you treat IM as a serious business, have multiple flows of income AND love your job and are getting results, you wouldn't be reading about blogging. You'd be writing the blog posts.

You know what Tai Lopez says about loving your work? "Imagine if someone told you they found the most perfect woman to marry AND found a way to only spend a few hours per week with her. I'd say "um, are you sure that's the right person for you?""
Not that Tai Lopez is where you should be getting all your life advice from.

Same goes for what you do. The friends I've introduced to IM who've been obsessed with making money are the ones who've actually made it.

Imagine you're 25, starting IM, and can't even use WordPress or buy a domain. A few hours ain't gonna cut it, ESPECIALLY if you're completely new - you need to expand your knowledge exponentially. It's like me deciding I want to get into stocks because I've seen The Wolf of Wall Street and like to read Forbes when I have free time.

The "take it easy" advice is fine when you're in high school (you may still be for all I know). If you wanna be competitive in the grown ups world you need to constantly learn, improve and work. Otherwise you'll just average, with enough money to get by and have a holiday every once in a while.

If you're determined to accomplish something and have discipline, you won't want to just spend a few hours per day on something. You'd be going all in. You can still balance your health and social life etc, but you wouldn't be wasting any time on useless activities I'll tell you that.

Edit: With thay being said, do whatever works for you. I've tried the "take it easy" aproach and a few years down the road I was making more money than most people around me, just not as much as I wanted and ABSOLUTELY not as much as I could've been making. There is nothing noble in not trying to reach your full potential. I've changed my approach over the past few months and I'm much bussier, much more satisfied and my life is overall just better.

That's funny. Of course it's one of many approaches, so why did you try and say it doesn't work? Hmm...

LOL, exactly my point. I just SAID you have to read and expand your knowledge. Are you even reading what I am saying?

And again, I said researching and learning is the best way to go when you've already spent hours on your business. No I am not in high school either.

Dude, no kidding! You're much more experienced and further along in IM than the average noob, so you are already obsessed with making money online. Someone who is not and just "mildly interested" can not sit down all day and work on something only to not see any results, because they WILL give up - as is the case with 97% of people trying IM.

I get what you're saying OP, you're right (in a way). Here's a simple version of the message OP is trying to give:

Learn to do your stuff first! Hard work comes later.

You can't work hard if you don't know how to, where to, when to and what to do. Do your job and gain some experience.

    Knowledge ▬► Work ▬► Experience ▬►Hard work ▬► success!

"IM is a grind, a marathon, NOT a sprint."

Thanks Whitman. It seems that hacko just saw Work Smarter Not Harder and started jumping on my shit (because hard work is definitely needed). It was my fault for not explaining that you need to know what you're doing first, because you can't become an expert at something without knowing what you're doing first.

IM can be a sprint here and there. I met kids, literally under 16 that have made millions by 18 sprinting. Of course sprinting is not really a long term option - it's just about quick bank. I used to sprint a lot since I started IM, with time I realized that "easy come easy go " is actually true, at least in my case. At the moment I'm focusing on stable projects and income. PS: I got loads of traffic if anybody wants to sprint - you know what I mean ... btw I love to sprint on facebook the most :)

I suppose the question is: Do you indulge in instant gratification now or delay it for later? It's true that people who work smarter AND harder will likely achieve results faster. At the same time are they really benefiting from putting off the enjoyment of life, even for a little? Everything in life is a balance. I've met people who barely work and don't succeed in anything, but I've also met people who work all day and barely get to enjoy their 10 bedroom house. They get up, go to work, come home and sleep. Wow, good job, laddie. I personally wouldn't want to be in either position.

I, for one, would rather make 5k a month and have plenty of time to enjoy life doing meaningless daily activities. Never cared for earning 50k a month, just to keep up with the competition. Both are very doable. No one here knows how much I actually make. They probably think that someone who can get away with playing games all day is not making anything. Lol, fortunately that's not how life works. I always pay the bills on time and have food on the table. Heck, I have enough left over to buy treats and stuff. I like to troll sometimes and act like I don't make anything. It's a stupid habit that I should leave.

Now we come to the other thing: How materialistic are you? I plan on getting a new pc and smart phone within the next half year. I don't need some fast car or an overpriced rolex watch, etc. I don't drink champagne and rarely eat at restaurants. I'm a minimalist and that works for me. The typical response would be, "Yeah, but one day the economy will fail and you will have to work hard at it to keep up." Maybe, but I survived the 2008 one and will do so for whatever else life throws at me. Don't assume that you know what's going to happen or not.

I'm probably gonna go eat something and then we'll see where life takes me today.

Sprinting is not sustainable - glad someone realizes that! I've tried it many times and I end up burnt out, to the point where I just let my business sit because I've done too much on it.

Love him or hate him, he makes a killing and provides FREE information worth thousands.

You bring up a great point there, Dotsya. People who work most of their life don't actually have a life in my honest opinion. Work, eat, sleep, is not a way I would like to live, that's for sure.

The point I'm trying to make here is that 'slow and steady' works best, no doubt about it. That's NOT to say that churn and burn methods don't work, because they absolutely do.

I don't actually care what anyone says, because the ones disagreeing with me are the ones that think you can get rich overnight. They are the ones that are constantly looking for ways to make money online since their "latest and greatest get-rich-quick scheme" never took off. And if it did miraculously work, it was only for a short amount of time before it crashed and burned.
